A traditional and lively Cornish pub is a 2-3 minute walk down the bridle path. The shepherds hut is on the edge of Bodmin moor with miles of crisp and fresh walks to choose from. We can provide decorations and a bottle of your choice for special occasions The space The shepherds hut is perfect for a more comfortable and luxurious camping experience. Comfortable full size double bed. Enjoy the log burner with kindling, logs and firelighters provided. Wood fire hot tub with views of the country side. The shepherds hut has a camping stove for cooking, pots and pans, cooking utensils, cutlery, plates and dishes. We provided salt pepper and oil. Under counter small fridge. Toilet and shower. Toilet roll, shower gel and tooth paste provided. Outside garden furniture with the best views you can find! In the summer we also provide sun loungers in addition to the garden sofa. There is a portable dvd player with a large selection of dvds available to enjoy. Suggestion, Take this outside for a movie night under the stars! Guest access The entire shepherds hut, hot tub and parking. Parking area can comfortably fit 2 vehicles. We have 2 shepherds huts here, that both have their own private hot tub, outside space and parking area. Access down the bridle way is narrow. Please message us if your concerned your vehicle wouldn’t be suitable for the access. Free on road parking is available at the top of the road. We are currently undertaking work at the site to prepare for additional accommodation coming this summer, so more guests can enjoy this special place. We have put as many measures in place as we can so this doesn’t disturb your booking. Strictly no work will be undertaken during your booking. You may notice some materials on site which we have hidden behind fencing to be as out of site as physically possible. Other things to note **Due to recent reviews stating people are struggling to get the hot tub heated up sufficiently, we have started doing this ourselves whenever possible, to help you make the most of your stay. If your hesitant about being able to heat the hot tub, please let us know and we can try and do this for you prior to your arrival** Woodfire hot tub instructions: The wood fire hot tub is simply a hot tub that’s heated up by a log burner. We provide all materials to get the tub heated. The lid on the tub is thermal and keeps in the heat, keep the lid on until the water has heated and always return the lid when you are finished using the hot tub. Firstly, use kindling and fire lighters to create a fire in the log burner. When the kindling has taken, add some larger logs/wood, provided in the black box. You need to keep the fire continuously burning for the water to heat up. If you start the fire and go to the pub, it won’t be heated up by the time you get back! You ideally want to be replenishing the wood in the stove every 20 minutes, to ensure the fire is maintained and doesn’t die down. Keep the fire going until the water is at an ideal temperature to use. This is anywhere between 38-42 degrees depending on your personal preference. How quick the hot tub heats up is largely down to how good you are at a getting a hot fire going in the stove and how well you maintain the fire through the heating process. If you’re starting your fire and letting it burn out before re-starting again, the process is going to take a lot longer. You can always ask us for help or advice if you’re struggling. There are also many instruction videos on YouTube. As with a normal hot tub, you should be very careful mixing alcohol consumption with using a hot tub. Use at your own risk.
