Il-Veduta: country-estate apartment

Relax, work, paint, write, swim, ski, walk, hike, bike ... Lovingly furnished in a contemporary rustic style, apartment occupies the whole ground floor of a beautiful 100 year old refurbished stone & oak house. Secluded grounds include a vineyard, swimming pool, wellness hut with sauna and jacuzzi, a mature park and an orchard with fruit and nut trees. There are many walking and cycling trails in the surrounding areas of Zagorje county together with spas, castles, golf courses, wineries ... The space Il-Vedutta is a perfect place for relaxation - the silence, the view, the many shades of green in front and the blue skies above - just being around creates that special feeling of serenity. You may choose to bring some hobbies into your stay, a perfect place to enhance painting and maybe writing skills or just reading that book you have been promising yourself time to enjoy. Bring your laptop and work from a place with no annoying interceptions except the odd voicing of the rooster or turkey, a barking dog keeping them in place, some frogs can be heard at sundown and sometime even a horse's happy neigh as they pass by on a walk from the riding centre in the area. Private parking with a gate leads into the garden and a pathway to the house. The apartment is very private with its own entrance door leading into the hallway and the bathroom on the side. A spacious kitchen with a dining area, and archway with full size curtains opens into the living-and-sleeping area. A large room with old beamed ceiling is separated into two parts by the floor-to-ceiling feature shelving displaying a number of local souvenirs, books, bottles etc. The living area has a small coffee-table with armchairs, old-style side cabinet with a TV set on top and a quality pull-out sofa bed. The sleeping area houses a romantic four-poster bed with natural cotton drapes and a full size wardrobe. Double-door opens on to a spacious patio with a seating set to relax and overlooking a lawn, with a long wooden table and benches in the shade. The vineyard is sloping down just to the side of the house, whilst the swimming pool and wellness-hut are down the other side. Guest access Apartment at Il-Vedutta occupies the whole of the ground floor of the house, including the partly covered patio in the front where to sit and relax. It has its own entrance and access is easy and secure from the parking area There is also a barbecue for your use and full privacy is assured as the house is surrounded by own grounds with the orchard, park lawn and vineyard. Full size swimming pool is available from May to October next to which is a patio area with sun-loungers and a parasol. Also here you will find the wellness hut with a sauna, jacuzzi and a walk-in shower. Other things to note Inland Croatia has it's own outstanding beauty and Il-Veduta is nestled in the Zagorje countryside less than an hour from the country capital Zagreb and also not far from Slovenia . Il-Veduta is an amazing property where visitors can totally unwind from the stresses of everyday life and yet within such easy access to so many places of interest. We anticipate our guests will mostly enjoy the stunning views, greenery and the silence of Il-Vedutta, together with the swimming pool and wellness hut featuring the jacuzzi and sauna. The Zagorje county in north-west of Croatia is an area with many well known thermal spas, so that within an easy drive you can visit our local spas Stubicke Toplice and Terme Jezercica (10-15 mins), then Krapinske Toplice and Tuheljske Toplice (30-40 mins) and just a little further away there are a number of spas across the open Slovenian border -within an hour's drive or so. There are also a number of golf-courses within 30-45 minutes drive. Zagorje is also renowned for it's many medieval hilltop fortifications, castles and palaces which today house musems, galleries, restaurants and so on - you can visit Dvorac Orsic nearby, or the famous Trakoscan castle, Veliki Tabor and Miljana - all less than an hour away. There are many winemakers in the area, often providing tasting and visits to their cellars, we will gladly share our experiences with you. And after a long day sightseeing you can visit one of our recommended restaurants with local specialities, or find your own favourite - there are plenty to choose from. During the winter months there is an added advantage of skiing in the area, as in the background the two Sljeme ski-runs overlook Il-Vedutta. And less than one hour drive will bring you to the well known Slovenia ski destinations Rogla and Pohorje with plenty of varied skiing on offer. In case you cannot leave without a shopping expedition, you are spoiled for choice as Il-Vedutta is only 15-20 minutes drive to the largest shopping mall in Croatia - Westgate, and the leading outlet in the area - Roses Outlet Village.
