The space 1. House Our 3-bedroom house with a private garden is a pleasant Victorian property with an age of more than 160 years, which is located 0.4 miles (8 mins walk) away from the famous Magdalen Bridge, the gateway to the Oxford City Centre. After the Magdalen Bridge, you can walk through the historic High Street and imagine the street in the 1090s with the current views of cultural buildings including the University Church and Colleges. Alternatively, you can also start a punting river trip under the Magdalen Bridge and have experience of punting on the beautiful River Thames whilst enjoying the natural view of the city. By walking for 5~10 minutes from our house, you can easily find car park (St Clement’s, £2.20 for overnight parking 8pm-8am), popular restaurants, local supermarkets (Sainsbury), bus stops and coach stops for traveling from/to London City and Heathrow/Gatwick Airports. In addition, guests can have magnificent views over Oxford in the famous South Park with 50 acres of open space and trees, which is within a 3-minute walk distance. Despite the old age of our house, in 2022 we had a chance to refurbish the whole property to modern standards with a new kitchen, electric heaters, floors, insulated walls, etc. All the rooms are well designed with good access to natural light and fresh air. 2. En-suite bedrooms The peaceful double bedrooms with a modern en-suite bathroom are situated in a quiet street with less traffic where many kind people live around. Fast broadband at a minimum speed of 264 Mbps and free WiFi are provided for all guests. In the bedroom, the facilities include a TV, hair dryer, kettle, and desk. Our Roku TV brings all your favorite entertainment together in one place for you to enjoy any HDR movies, sports, and games. 3. Open-plan kitchen living room In the open-plan kitchen living room, essential appliances including induction hobs, oven, toaster, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, pans, cups, and plates are provided for our guests to make their food. The meat, vegetable, drink, and fruit can be purchased at Sainsbury (8 minutes walk). The guests can have meals in the dining area. 4. Free breakfast A help-yourself breakfast is provided including cereals and milk so that our guests can have a good start to the day. 5. Note: The roads in Oxford city center are as busy as London, especially during the evening/night. Guests are suggested to make a good travel plan about car parking and driving. Given many cyclists on the same narrow road as cars, drivers must be very CAREFUL when they drive in the city centre. There are always some occasional car crashes into cyclists. Guest access Our guests can access their private bedroom, garden and open-plan kitchen living room. Other things to note Parties are NOT PERMITTED.
