This beautiful, spacious home has 2 bedrooms and a futon bed in a common area. There are three more bedrooms upstairs that will be unoccupied and aren’t available with this rental. If you desire to rent the full property, upstairs and downstairs, we have another listing for the entire house. This listing is ONLY for the first level of the home. There is a fire pit for bonfires and a propane fire pit on the patio when the weather is appropriate. Fort Towson is a quant, small town with only a couple eating spots and no grocery stores. There is a Dollar General and a gas station with limited food items. The nearest grocery store is 20 minutes away in Hugo or Valiant. Oklahoma is a destination which is no stranger to storms. Any electrical outage is not the responsibility of the host and is entirely outside of any person’s control. Bug and wildlife info: Oklahoma is located in a hot and humid environment that is teeming with wildlife, including the creepy crawly kind. Depending on the time of the year and weather conditions, Guests may encounter mosquitoes, bees, gnats, moths, lovebugs, ants, spiders, beetles, roaches, ladybugs, stinkbugs, etc. While we do utilize regular pest control services, we are unable to offer any guarantee against or refunds for the occasional bug that may make it inside. Guests can help by keeping doors closed and disposing of all trash. Guests will have access to entire downstairs, outdoor patios, and outdoor property. This listing does NOT include addition bedrooms/bathrooms upstairs. Fort Towson served as a gateway for settlers bound for Texas during the 1830s. Those passing through the area included Davey Crocket, Sam Houston and Stephen F. Austin. When the Choctaw and Chickasaw were displaced from their lands in the southeastern United States, the fort served as a point of dispersal upon their arrival in the West. The fort was also an important staging area for US forces during the Mexican War of 1846. Fort Towson’s population is about 500. With that said, the town is very small with little or no festivities and only with gas station and a Dollar General. There is a cafe and steak house in town.
