The Anchorage- A Retro Waterfront Retreat

Take a step back in time in this 70's vintage getaway nook. Immerse yourself on the back deck, watching the sun rise and set over a peaceful creek outlook. Fish or swim off your own private jetty. Tune out for a weekend with DVD's, board games, throwing in a line or spinning a few vinyl records. The Anchorage was purchased in 1978. She's been in our family for four generations. We've lovingly kept her true to the original form as possible AND for the first time available for others to enjoy. The space The Anchorage is a time capsule , a homage to the good ole golden days of holiday vacations. She’s furnished as per its original conception back in 1978. The rare aspect of the house has 180degree water views and is due north facing, it basks in sunshine all day long. There’s a large open plan living area with a lounge, dining and kitchen, the large windows provide picturesque views of Dora creek. The living extends out to the back deck and backyard. Wake up to a view of the creek in from the main bedroom, which has a queen bed, wardrobe and drawers. The front bedroom has two single beds, wardrobe and drawers. The laundry is separate and has a sink, washing machine and drier. There’s an outdoor line and also a portable clothes drier. The bathroom has been newly renovated and has a sink, shower with detachable shower head and toilet. The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, oven, microwave and all cooking equipment required to cook up a fest. The crockery and plates are original retro. Essentials like oil, salt and pepper etc are provided. Tea and coffee also provided along with a coffee plunger and teapot. Eat on the dinner table inside or take your food out to the back deck. The back deck is where all the magic happens. Laze the day away basking in the sunshine, watch the fish jump in the creek. There’s a 8seater table and a outdoor couch to enjoy. The backyard meets with Dora creek, where you can fish or swim off your own private jetty. There’s a whole lot of lawn games and water crafts (kayak/dingy/paddleboard) provided for you to enjoy. For rainy days play boardgames inside or watch a dvd! The Anchorage is best accessed by car, however there’s a train station 10min walk from the house and there’s also a jetty if you want to arrive by boat.
