The space - Perfect for a romantic getaway - youll have full and private use of the Old School House airbnb wing, designed for one couple. - You will have sole use of the main entry and the "School House" during your stay. - When we welcome guests we use the rear driveway and rear entry of the stone home exclusively. Please be assured, we live in the School Masters residence, the stone walls are very thick and we don't share any common areas with our guests on this one acre property. - The building has thick sand stone walls and double glazed (thermal and accoustic) windows throughout for your comfort. Wood burning fire (April - Oct) and reverse cycle aircon in bedroom and the living room. - Check out The Couriers Hills Wanderer Winter Ed magazine 2024 featuring the school and its recent full restoration. Note- We intentionally DO NOT have a TV, as we prefer to provide a real retreat. You may if course BYOD and stream (reliable and fast speed wifi available). - The Old School House is diagonally opposite (1-2 minute walk) Balhannah pub and drive through liquor store, Kloses supermarket, Bakery, Butcher, Cafe and more (hairdresser, pharmacy etc). Also a short walk to Field trip and Bally Pizza. - Wineries close (Nepenthe - free tasting foe two included in your stay, The Lane, Shaw and Smith, Bird in Hand, Cobb Hill and more). - We are happy to leave you to your holiday or be available to answer questions or have a chat as you wish! - ID for the person who made the booking and the additional adult may be asked for on check-in. You may have day guests but they must be supervised by you at all times and leave property by 11pm. - Feel free to park your vehicle off street on the driveway at the front of the house. The gate may be locked by negotiation. - House rules: - we ask that you do not smoke inside the house or verandah. - please report any accidental breakages, so we may replace the item during your stay. - please do not move furniture, as this may damage the timber floor. - please do not use anything that may bleach or stain linen such as oils, fake tan hair dye, or acne products. - for winter months a generous/ reasonable amount of firewood and kindling are provided. You are asked not to take firewood from our personal wood store on the property if you require more than the allocated amount the local supermarket and hardware sells both. - Our guidebook will let you know about just some of the treats you can experience during your stay: https://abnb.me/62qR6jOBKGb Guest access - You will have access to the Old School House wing - A large room 15m x 5m with a mezzanine bathroom and loft bedroom. - You have a kitchen, a dining and lounge area with a large wood burning fireplace (April to October) and ducted reverse cycle air conditioning. -The large bathroom offers heated floors, a rainwater head large shower and a clawfoot bath. - The loft bedroom complete with reverse cycle airconditioning (and electric blankets in months April through to October). - NOTE: Both bedroom and bathroom are accessed by the stairs. See photos. - You will have the front verandah to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sunset. - We are more than happy for guests to use the outdoor barbecue area and firepit area by arrangement. Other things to note As seen on Restoration Australia on ABC, Series 7. We will provide a self prepared breakfast- eggs and bacon for one morning of your stay and muesli, milk, bread, spread and selection of Vegemite and jams for use during your stay. Selection of tea bags and coffee (plunger and pods) is available for use during your stay.
