Le cottage by the lake in wine country

Relaxing cottage situated directly across the street from Lake Selby. About 15 minute drive through the backroads to Sutton & Vermont for skiing . Perfect for couples or families. Not realistic for parties (My parents live next door) The space One of the first cottages around and built by my grandfather, this charming cottage overlooks Lake Selby. While it's not The Ritz Carlton, it's a cozy, older cottage filled with rustic charm. The interior features beautiful wood beams throughout, and the main floor offers plenty of space. There's a daybed with two single beds in the sitting room by the fireplace. Upstairs, you'll find the master bedroom and a smaller bedroom with access to a private outdoor balcony. The cottage includes a living room with a TV, as well as a cozy sitting area by the fireplace. The full kitchen and dining room are perfect for sit-down meals, and there's a small breakfast table that offers lovely views of the lake. For parties larger than six, we offer extra accommodation in a separate guest house on the property. This space includes a queen-sized bed and a small office area, accommodating two additional guests. Please note, this option is only available for groups of six or more and must be confirmed prior to arrival. Confirmation of the total number of guests is required, and no extra people beyond the agreed number at booking are allowed. Our cottage is ideal for families who love the outdoors, with great fishing, fabulous restaurants, and plenty of nearby activities like snowshoeing & skiing. Nestled in the heart of wine country, it's the perfect spot to relax and enjoy. CITQ - 304475 Guest access We have a dock right in front of the cottage (across the street) where you can sit and enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine. We have two chairs on the dock. Guests are welcome to use our canoe, paddleboat, and paddleboard. Please note, there is some seaweed close to shore, so I recommend taking a boat or tube farther out for swimming. It may not be ideal for young children. There’s a small public area with stairs leading to the lake at Wilkinson & Selby, just a 2-minute walk from the cottage. Since COVID, the town hasn’t installed their dock, and there's a sign indicating no swimming, but you can still swim there—just keep in mind there is no lifeguard on duty. The water is clearer and easier to wade into at this spot. For those who enjoy long walks or snowshoeing in the winter the lake is perfect for that as well. 12 km away - Cowansville Beach - swimming and splash pad for kids 25 km away - Knowlton Douglas beach - swimming & Knowlton Marina Lake skating rink depending on the weather. Other things to note If you bring your beloved pet please be sure to clean up after them inside and out. We are on a well with limited amount of water consumption. Please be mindful. Balconies can be dangerous for young children. There are no railings on the front or back porch. This cottage is directly across the street from Lake Selby but it is not on a back country road. Depending on the week/weekend there may be cars going by the house regularly as people live around the lake. This is an old cottage and not everything is up to date. Example: not all of the windows are easy to open and close.
