The gas "woodstove" is a great place to warm your toes in cool weather. The house is located on 4 acres that offer privacy, yet you are just steps to town. Outdoor living space includes a hammock, picnic table, deck bar, & fire pit with Adirondack chairs for relaxing. Bike wash area is a great place to spray off your bike with a hose. New this year is our outdoor shower! We are 3 minutes from the center of East Burke and we have direct access to the Kingdom Trails--ride right from the house! Lake Willoughby (named the 3rd best lake in New England) is 30 minutes away--it is gorgeous, flanked by cliffs on either side and filled with cold, deep water. We are 6 minutes to Burke Mountain for downhill MTB or hiking. Here are some highlights: *Coffee bar featuring Bodum pour-over and conventional coffee maker as well as an electric kettle. We are less than a mile to the following awesome spots: KT welcome center, NEK Country Store, East Burke Market (gas, great local beer selection, selection of food & convenience items), Caffe Lotti (great coffee & baked goods), The Publick House (fun bar + food). Also, we are walking distance to fantastic yoga at Sweetwater Studios (our next door neighbor), offering trapeze yoga, men's yoga, aromatherapy, local honey, and more! There's an awesome free shuttle called CABS or the Community Area Bike Shuttle between the center of East Burke and the trailhead in East Haven. Additional parking for 2-3 cars is located across the road just up the driveway. The garage is available for secure bike storage and there is also a private multi-bike stand located behind the garage. *Cell service is usually good at the house, but it can be spotty in the area - when calls drop, we call it "country dial tone". It's not like cell service in Boston or Portland! *Our FAST WiFi has two boosters and should handle all your streaming needs--for work or entertainment. There is also free WiFi in town at the Kingdom Trails Welcome Center and Caffe Lotti, the local coffee shop. *We have 3 Nest security cameras that view the exterior of the home (driveway, backyard, side yard) used for your security and the safety of the home when it is unoccupied. *The MTB trails close Oct 31 and reopen sometime in May for mountain biking--exact dates depend on the weather. It opens for fatbiking when the snow cover is adequate.
