Our luxury Shepherd hut is brand new for 2023 and is nestled in its own private walled garden. It once belonged to the Swythamley Hall estate, where they grew fruit and vegetables for the people of the beautiful, impressive hall. Sit back and relax in your very own garden which is approximately 1 arce! You are surrounded by a private wall, woodland and nature. Sit with a glass of wine or a cooled beer and take in the breath taking views of the rolling fields, trees, animals and the roaches. Our luxury Shepherd hut is set in a unique private walled garden with plenty of garden space. You have approximately 1 arce nestled in stately countryside and nature, its soooo peaceful, and truly is a tranquil retreat. The area is massive! and it's all yours, no neighbours, no other guests, just yourselves and your lovely adorable hens, alongside the wild rabbits hopping around the garden, birds and baby squirrels. It is extremely private! Your own secluded luxury escape! The outside area includes a brand new morso bbq and pizza oven, and extra large firepit.... We also have our double hammock, so you can snooze the days away outside within the secret garden.....ssssh please, serious snoozing! There is plenty of seating area outside, such as picnic bench, bistro set for 2 under the shelter and a romantic swing for 2 so you can take in the beautiful views together. We have also got Hannah's Honesty Shop situated in the garden, where you can purchase local produce such as Hannahs Happy Hen eggs, local beers, local homemade jams and honey seasons permitting.... The Secret Garden Shepherd Hut Experiences: You have your very own silkie hens to look after, Barry the cockerel (aka big baz!) and Charlie the cockerel and their girl hens.... They come in all different colours and there are lots of lovely happy little hens pottering around the secret garden, for you to enjoy.... Pop them to bed at night, it's really easy as they take themselves to bed, you just need to close their coops to keep them safe.... Let them out in a morning when you awake from the best sleep ever!.... Give them their breakfast and they will follow you around and love you forever ❤️ Brand new for 2024 is our greenhouse, you get the chance to look after your very own garden.....water the plants....learn about plants and flowers....we've even popped some pots, seeds and compost in there, so you can have a go at potting your own seeds.....We are having a go at growing our own fruits, salads and herbs and along the way, you are welcome to try our produce.....the berries will complement your breakfast perfectly 👌 and the herbs will complement your pizza and salad. It's super easy, and gives you a chance to be a little green fingered... Over winter, the green house will still be growing potatoes and herbs 🌿 We really want our guests to experience a taste of nature so come and visit us for a true countryside luxury adventure 😊 This truly is a special place, our guests say its a slice of paradise.... you wont want to leave! We even get visits from wild deer who dont want to leave! You'll probably see our other pets pottering around too... Our ducks, muddles and puddles which you are welcome to feed with their corn... Our friendly cats, frankie and tigerlilly and their kittens tommy and pammy.. Our farm pony May is in the stable near by to the hut, so your welcome to feed her carrot and apple treats.. Lady is our rough collie pup.... We also have lots of chickens and sheep dotted about! Even if you are travelling solo.....we will make you very welcome and will look after you and are only too happy to help. We want all of our guests to feel welcome and at home..... Whilst your here........ Why not treat yourselves and submerge into our new woodfired hotub, our luvtub! this is an extra charge at £40 based on a 2 night stay and includes fluffy dressing gowns. The hut is in walking distance to our local country pub, The ship inn in Wincle, Which is also situated next to our local brewery and fishery. We are a 12 minute drive to supermarket, atm and petrol station. Nearby to market towns, including Leek with its antique markets, Buxton, and Macclesfield. Buxton is filled with things to do such as poole cavern, pavillion gardens and the buxton opera house. Near Alton Towers, 40-minute drive. We are nearby to lots of walks, including the Roaches and the beautiful luds church. Tittesworth Water Sports and Activity Centre is a short drive away. 5 mins away is Madrenaline, in Heaton. This has activities including segways and archery. Blaze farm is not too far from us, and they make their own ice cream and have a cafe and nature trail. Also based on blaze farm is the potty sheep pottery shed, where you can design your own pottery. We are also a close drive to the beautiful towns of bakewell, matlock and castleton where you can enjoy lovely walks such as mam tor and blue john mine. We are a short drive away from the lovely villages of hartington and longnor, filled with cafes, walks, cheese shops and hulme end where you can walk to thors cave... The Three Horseshoes inn, in blackshaw moor, is a 15 minute drive away and has a restaurant, and beautiful spa, where you can book mini spa days. They also do lovely carverys on Sundays. Looking for something special... Sitting alongside the Caldon Canal in Cheddleton, Staffordshire. The Flintlock is an informal fine dining restaurant where Thom Bateman is the chef patron. We can highly recommend the lazy trout pub which is a 10 minute drive to meerbrook, they serve excellent food and our open from 9.30am to 10pm every day...their breakfasts are beautiful! McDonald's has recently opened in our local town leek, which is a 12 min drive.... If you book in April, enjoy being surrounded by lambs in springtime. Book at Christmas, and the hut will be decorated, including festive treats. The same for New Year, Easter, Halloween, and Bonfire. When you arrive, you will find a complimentary breakfast hamper, which will which includes fresh bread and croissants. Enjoy these alongside Jam and butter which is also included. In Summer: We include Granola and natural yoghurt, which you can enjoy with our local honey from our neighbour's bees! In Winter: We include porridge oats, which again is complented with our local honey... You can make egg and soldiers from our very own Hannahs Happy Hens! A choice of fresh Fresh milk is provided and we will try our best to meet any dietary requirements. Weve also popped in Tea, Coffee and Sugars. Plus handmade biscuits from our local bakery. There is enough for 2 morning breakfasts! Weve also popped in some marshmallows for toasting on the firepit, whilst you stargaze into the beautiful country night sky and listen to the owls... honestly we like to spoil our guests 🙂 The hut itself is super cosy... the bedroom area is like a little cocoon and has a super thick, luxurious double mattress and quality linens. The bathroom is a separate, private room with a large roomy power shower, wash basin, and toilet. There is also a heated towel rail. The hut has good fast wifi, a smart tv, inc netflix, and freeview. mini fridge freezer, ceramic hob, everhot stove, and power shower. Kettle and toaster. Cups, plates, cutlery, pans, and frying pan. We have also popped a slowcooker in the hut, enough for 2 people. We have tried to supply eco-friendly, vegan products in the hut where possible. We also have a range of eco, vegan friendly products for you to use, including hand soap, hand cream, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner..... Ssssh, we have also popped in some lavender sleep mist! We do ask politely that you leave them in the hut so other people can try them. We've also provided cooking oils, table sauces, salt and pepper, plain flour, squash, and other kitchen aids, such as cleaning products, kitchen roll, cling film, and foil. There is a dab radio and alexa. There is a hairdryer, fan, books, dvds, and games, including swingball outside, large goal post, and football.. Included are teatowels, quality hand towels, quality bath towels, and bath mat and dressing gowns. Toilet rolls are eco-friendly and we've also popped in spare blankets and hot water bottle, so you're extra cosy! There is a torch, maps, flask, and cool bag if you wish to go on a walk. There is also a mini iron and ironing board. Even if it's raining outside, the hut itself is oh so cosy that the rain does not matter!! Snuggle up in your cocoon bed, listen to rain, read a book, watch a film, or just switch off completely..... The hottub is lovely in the rain too, then hop out into your fluffy robes and make yourself a luxury hot chocolate....pssst..weve popped some in the hut for you! This is truly an experience, the perfect romantic getaway in a secret hideaway, and we will cater for any special occasion you require. Extras: We also offer packages for special occasions, including birthdays, anniversarys, valentines, or any other special occasion you require..... The packages consists of Prosecco or local beer from wincle brewery (or mix of both) Strawberries/Seasonal Fruits Balloon Chocolates handmade biscuits And a personalised vintage sign All presented in a beautiful vintage wicker basket. Decorations will also be put up in the hut. This is a total of £50 If you wish to change anything, that's not a problem, and we will try our best to meet dietary requirements. Flowers are now available for you to order, my friend who lives locally, grows her own flowers and produces beautiful bouquets for any special occasion. Luxury fruit hamper, arranged beautifully in a wicker hamper basket £25 These can be purchased separately. Please ask for further information or if you wish to add one of these to your stay. Additional info: BBQ equipment and gloves, matches, and firelighters are provided. Sufficient sticks and logs for the first 2 nights are provided. Should you wish for more, we do have them available to buy. If you dont drive and would like to stay at our secret garden shepherd hut, we dont mind picking you up from our nearest train stations, located at Macclesfield, Congleton or Buxton. We will also drop you back off at the train station for your journey home. If you are unsure how to light fires or are not use to lighting fires, we are more than happy to help you with this. To ensure you make use of everything on your stay. The hut has plenty of outside lighting, so even on winter nights, you can see to get in and out of the hottub and to make use of the pizza oven and firepit. The hut includes a fire extinguisher, a fire blanket, a first aid kit, a smoke alarm, and a carbon monoxide alarm. We have two small bins in the hut, one for general waste and one for recycling. There are also two larger bins outside in a bin shelter, one for general waste and one for recycling. There is plenty of parking located near the hut, which has plenty of space and lighting. You can park your car under the vintage hayshed, where you'll find two large umbrellas and a festival trolley (aka the luggage transporter) to help with your luggage. We do have a strict no smoking or vaping policy for inside the hut. But we do allow smoking or vaping outside the hut. There is a shelter outside with a table and chairs, where you are welcome to smoke, and we have provided an ashtray. The hut is strictly no pets. Our hut is beautifully decorated with handmade portraits from our friend Dawn Williams using felt. They truly capture nature and wildlife and complement our hut perfectly. Parking is ample and free next to the vintage hay shed. Other things to note We live on a farm, so there are lots of animals including sheep, so in springtime you will see lots and lots of lambs! We also have silkie hens, some actually live in the walled garden so you will have the hens to look at while you daydream on the two seater swing. We have a pony called May, who you'll be able to see whilst having a lovely cup of coffee. The cats may come to visit you, they are friendly and love a fuss. We also have a rabbit called Roly.
