Kaaimans River Villa, part of the renowned Kaaimans River Lodge near Wilderness, is a rustic self-catering hideaway reached only by a short river crossing. Perfect for couples or friends seeking nature, romance, and adventure. The space LOCATION Between George and Wilderness, the Kaaimans River is a hidden gem of South Africa’s Garden Route. Our lodge sits at the foot of the mountain, perched above the river with breathtaking views of the water and surrounding peaks. Guests enjoy private river access for swimming, kayaking, SUP, and fishing (Kayaks & SUP included). The river mouth and beach are just a 15-min walk or paddle away, depending on the tide. OUTSIDE Relax in the spacious outdoor area with a lounge, braai/ BBQ area, fire boma, outdoor shower, and a large deck boasting unobstructed river and mountain views. Start the day with sunrise coffee, bask in the sun, or enjoy sunset drinks. Take a soak in the wood-fired hot tub, perfectly positioned to enjoy the scenery. INSIDE Rustic, simple, and comfortable, the space features two single beds doubling as a cozy couch by the indoor fireplace, plus a queen bed on the landing, bathroom, and indoor shower. Ideal for couples or up to four guests sharing an open-plan space. DETAILS Rates are for two guests. Extra guests are R250 pp/pn (max four). This is a nature-lover’s escape -expect possible visits from frogs, leggy visitor, or the occasional genet. If you enjoy the outdoors, adventure, and a bit of wild charm, you’ll love it here. Guest access Guests enjoy full private use of the villa, along with kayaks and SUP boards for exploring the Kaaimans River. Please secure all gear after use, following the provided instructions. Pets are welcome -just bring their beds and please keep them out of the indoor sleeping areas. Other things to note Please note the N2 highway passes through the Kaaimans River valley and is visible from the villa. You may occasionally hear traffic, though most guests find it unobtrusive. There’s no Wi-Fi, but you’ll have full mobile signal so you can stay connected with your own devices -many guests happily work remotely here. Shower towels are provided; please bring your own beach towels. Firewood and ice are available for purchase from the caretaker. The lodge runs on solar power with a backup generator for cloudy days, and some showers are gas-heated. Garden Route weather can be unpredictable -pack a raincoat if rain is forecast and embrace a magical paddle in the rain; the nearby waterfall is even more spectacular after rainfall.
