You'll love our home in Dolores, Colorado, where the desert meets the San Juan Mountains. Nestled in the beautiful Dolores river valley, our home is the perfect basecamp for a variety of outdoor and historic adventures. The Dolores River, McPhee Reservoir, miles of mountain biking trails, infinite hiking options, hunting, fishing, Mesa Verde National Park and several other archeological wonders are a few options for those who are looking to opt-outside. 1 hr to Telluride. 1 hr to Durango. The space Part country, part bohemian, the house is spacious, clean and comfortable. We lived in the home for over 10 years and continue to make improvements. We are surrounded my mama nature = WILDNESS! Though we do our best to keep critters outside, we cannot guarantee that you will not encounter wild creatures who occasionally find their way in. We do not use toxins as prevention but do our best to keep the spaces clean and free of unwelcome guests. Additionally, we do our best to keep the outside spaces clean. Country living, 2 large trees, and dirt roads offer endless tree litter, dirt and dust. We invite you to enjoy the experience that nature provides. Guest access You will have access to the whole house. Guest access also includes a screened in porch, a large yard with a decent lawn, and a shaded outdoor seating area with a grill. We do put the outdoor furniture and grill away for winter season. If you would like the use of either between Nov-April, please let us know in advance. NOTE: Bedroom 4 - The Loft - is available with advanced request. Please message us if you are interested in loft access. Other things to note Though this is a self-catering home stay, we have provided shampoo/conditioner/body-wash dispensers in each bath/shower area. To ensure you get settled in and have a great start to your stay with us, we also provide one (1) roll of paper towels, dish soap, a few trash bags, and an initial supply of toilet paper including a couple of extra rolls in each bathroom. These may not be enough for your entire stay and you may need to purchase additional supplies. Bedroom 4 is an optional loft space with 2 twin beds and a play area. The loft is available with advanced request. To keep cleaning fees lower, we keep the loft locked off unless there is specific request for the additional space. This space is hotter in the summer and colder in the winter. A pedestal fan and a space heater are provided.
