Home Away From Home While in Ottawa

The home has three levels. The upper level has two private bedrooms rented exclusively to visiting professionals. The main floor includes a shared bathroom for the two bedrooms, a light-use kitchen, and entry to the front and back yard. Living room and office are not shared. Hosts sleep on the lower level with a separate bathroom. Best suited to guests with full daytime schedules. Not ideal for remote work or extended time at home. Quiet household with early nights and early mornings. The space Your Room (The Right Room) Furnished with a comfortable queen bed, dresser, desk with task lighting, and a full closet. Room-darkening curtains are included for the occasional sleep-in. For comfort, the home has central air and heat, and the room also includes a window air conditioner and extra blankets so you can adjust to your preference year-round. A mini-fridge is provided in the room, as the main kitchen refrigerator is not shared. The kitchen itself is available for light use. Fresh towels and face cloths are provided and swapped on weekends. Clean replacement linens are provided every two weeks and used linens are picked up for laundering. Guest access Kitchen The kitchen is available for light use. You are welcome to eat at the island or take meals back to your room. A mini-fridge with freezer is provided in your room, as the main refrigerator is private. Microwave, stove, oven, air fryer, Instant Pot, and slow cooker are available. A dedicated space is provided for non-refrigerated food. French press, stove top espresso maker, instant coffee and/or tea are provided as are salt, pepper, basic seasonings, oil and food storage containers. Bathroom Shared bathroom with tub, shower, sink, toilet and shelf space for toiletries. The bathroom is cleaned weekly. Guests are expected to clean up after themselves as needed with available cleaning supplies. Towels and washcloths are provided and refreshed weekly. Laundry Washer and dryer are located in the basement and available at scheduled times, typically weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Detergent, dryer sheets, stain remover, and drying rack are available for use. Outdoor Space Seasonal access to the backyard; Wi-Fi reaches the yard. Parking We do not offer on-site parking. Due to city infrastructure changes, parking availability in the neighbourhood is limited and not guaranteed. Some guests are able to find street parking after 3 p.m., but this varies and should not be relied upon. If reliable or daytime parking is essential for your stay, this home may not be a good fit. During your stay Hosts are available via the Airbnb app or text if needed. Other things to note As Darlene works from home, this home is not suitable for remote workers or guests who plan to be home during the day.
