The space As you meander down a picturesque mews street in this cultured corner of South Kensington, there’s no mistaking this elegant two-bedroom home. Buoyant in its baby blue façade and accessed by a private entrance, the property’s external charms only tell half the story. Deft design choices across all three floors of this quintessential London home expertly maximise the sense of space inside... With its vintage travel posters recalling glorious sun-drenched holidays on the Côte d'Azur, it’s fitting the open-plan living space (incorporating the kitchen and dining area) offers a modern twist on French-inspired living. Delicately lit by soothing spotlights, enterprising chefs will find everything to their liking in the charming modern kitchen, replete with a wholesome breakfast bar. Heading upstairs, the spacious principal bedroom suite is the paradigm of grace. A refined king-sized bed bids you to relax in this most reposeful of spaces, avowedly discerning with its harmonious prints and gentle downlighting. The calming hues of the modern bathroom only add to this room’s effortless composure. A quaint Juliette balcony brings an extra dimension to the second bedroom where you can nest gently amid the sounds of the dawn chorus under playful parrot wall art. Early bird? Sneak up to the top floor with an invigorating brew as the rest of the house sleeps to enjoy this property’s pièce de résistance all to yourself. Lovers of literature will be instantly charmed by the bookish wallpaper that lines the home cinema space, although we recommend stepping out onto the small (but perfectly formed) adjoining balcony to enjoy the morning calm before this pocket of prime west London gingerly springs into life. Exuding peace, this home’s phenomenal location in London’s arts and museum quarter is also something to cherish, with the renowned French Lycée school also close by. From here, the culturally curious can easily explore the V&A, Natural History Museum and Serpentine Gallery. Prefer to indulge in some retail therapy? Head to the shopping emporiums of nearby Brompton Cross and Knightsbridge; home to Harrods, Harvey Nichols and an array of high-end boutique stores and award-winning restaurants. We Love The mews location – a little haven of tranquility only steps from the capital’s leading cultural attractions, and the impressive open spaces of Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park. A double sofa bed (suitable for two guests) can be found in the sitting room. Please note, the Aga cannot be used during your stay and the garage is private. Guest access Check-in is between 3pm and 9pm. Check-ins outside of this window may incur additional fees. Unless otherwise specified, a greeter will meet you on arrival.
