Whether you’re watching the sunset from the wrap-around deck or soaking in the hot tub under the stars, this is your space to disconnect and recharge. ​The Space ​Russet Cabin is a beautifully appointed, timber-lined sanctuary designed for relaxation. Inside, you’ll find a warm, carpeted interior featuring: ​Ultimate Comfort: Full-length lined curtains, plush cushions, and a cozy electric log burner. ​Kitchenette: Equipped with a hob, oven, toaster, and kettle for easy meal prep. (please note - no inside sink) ​Atmosphere: Subtle mains lighting inside and magical fairy lights that automatically flicker on at dusk. ​Outdoor Living ​The cabin is designed to let you enjoy the outdoors, regardless of the weather: ​The Deck: A 5-meter front deck, partially covered so you can enjoy your morning coffee even if it’s drizzling. ​The Spa & Relaxation: The deck wraps around to a private rear area where you’ll find your inflatable hot tub (a guest favorite!) and a sun lounger. ​The Orchard: Nestled among willow fencing and blackberry thickets, the site borders peaceful farmland and gardens. ​Facilities & The "Glamping" Experience ​To maintain the cabin's rustic integrity, please note the following layout: ​Water & Cooking: Mains water is available from a dedicated site tap just a few steps outside. There is no plumbing/sink inside the cabin. ​The "Hut": Your private off grid washing-up, shower, and WC facilities are located in a separate outdoor Hut close by. ​Eco-Friendly Shower: The gas-powered shower and washing-up station operate from a dedicated water butt system. ​Location & Access ​Privacy: While there is one other cabin on the elevated site (Liberty Cabin), Russet is tucked away in its own private section of the orchard. ​Arrival: Access is via a shared private track and gateway off a quiet village road that leads down to the local canal. ​The Neighborhood: We are located in the heart of a quintessential small village, bordered by The Bridgwater and Taunton Canal and the Somerset Levels. Farmland, lanes and country tracks are part of the landscape. ​Guest Note ​Please review our digital handbook for specific details on water usage and the outdoor facilities to ensure you have a seamless stay! Guest access Guests have access to the whole the orchard, however, the quaint timber wood store is not accessible. The vegetable patch is worked on throughout the year and sits at the furthest corner of the orchard from Russet Cabin, closer to the main house. Guest parking is just inside the five bar gate, and there is a pedestrian gate for ease, when on foot. The grassy track runs between the orchard and the village lane and is sloped but not steep. As you approach, the entrance to the orchard is on the left. There is a gate further along at the end to a farmer's field and another gate to the right onto a community field. Other things to note Russet Cabin is in the small village of North Newton, with easy access to the M5. The Harvest Moon offers good quality pub food. Il Basilico in West Monkton offers Italian style dining and a beer garden. The Somerset Boat Centre is a delightful place for a half hour evening stroll along the canal from North Newton and offers a rotation of very good food vans and fully stocked bar. North Newton is ideally located for cycle rides, paddle boarding, walking, and fishing. Glastonbury and Street are within easy reach, as are Lyme Regis and other beach towns along the south coast and Bristol Channel. We are surrounded by AONB and National Trust sites.
