Casa Solana is a modern, 2BR /2BA Baja home + 1 BR/1BA Casita built to U.S. standards on its own lush, gated, gardener-tended 1,000-sq-mt (quarter-acre) lot graced with flowering, tropical plants. A 5-minute walk to the beach and within earshot of its crashing waves, Casa Solana is a perfect home base to explore nearby popular Pueblo Magico Todos Santos and innumerable tourist attractions throughout sunny Baja California Sur. The space Casa Solana is located in the much sought-after, upscale La Cachora neighborhood that is quiet and conveniently located. Casa Solana includes thoughtful touches such as a well-stocked kitchen with modern appliances, comfortable sheets and generous-size towels. The home features high ceilings, large outdoor palapa-shaded sitting areas, spacious full bathrooms, plenty of windows to admit the sea breeze, ample closet space, solid-wood doors, gated parking, with one covered spot and room for one or 2 more cars. It also has an outdoor shower with heated water and a clothes washer and dryer. PLEASE NOTE: Casa Solana is reached via driving on about 1 mile / 1.6 km of dirt road that has multiple "topes" (speed bumps) and may be rutted and bumpy, depending on its state of maintenance and the season. However, it is passable in a normal car carefully driven. Also please note that: (1) Guests at Casa Solana have exclusive use of the property. (2) Dogs are permitted. Maximum 2 dogs unless you obtain permission from management in advance. Pet fee may apply. (3) Dogs must be kept inside when the gardener is working on the property, unless the dog's owner/handler actively controls the dog. Dogs must be kept inside or kept quiet to the extent possible during quiet hours (9 pm-7 am). Casa Solana's layout The ground floor includes a well-stocked kitchen open to a dining and living areas, a laundry room with washer and dryer, and the principal bedroom with its own bathroom, as well as a spacious patio shaded by a palapa (palm-thatch roof) equipped with a ceiling fan to augment the pleasant sea breeze. The second bedroom is upstairs and reached by an outdoor stairway and has its own private bathroom, palapa-shaded sitting area and kitchenette. Further upstairs is the viewing deck, with views of the surrounding Baja countryside and a glimpse of the nearby ocean. The separate casita on the property consists of a cozy bedroom with a SINGLE bed, a beautiful, traditional-style bathroom, covered patio and outdoor kitchenette. It makes for a comfortable cuarto de servicio (maid's quarters) for those families who travel with a domestic employee or a cozy space for a teenager who wants some privacy. Casa Solana’s design is ideal for families, 2 couples or parents traveling with teenagers who want to be able to stay on a separate floor or in the Casita. The climate Todos Santos is located within a couple of miles of the Tropic of Cancer, but it benefits from a sea breeze that makes its climate remarkably comfortable much of the year. As a result, air conditioning is unnecessary in Todos Santos from November through at least May and often into July. However, for the hotter times of year Casa Solana is equipped with ceiling fans and air conditioning in all bedrooms and in the main living area, plus fans on the downstairs and upstairs patios. Casa Solana offers wifi internet speeds at approximately 15-20MB download and upload, sufficient for basic home office work, video conferences, and entertainment streaming. Pets: Dogs are welcome at Casa Solana but they should be well mannered and quiet, especially at night. The rectangular property has walls on 2 sides and fencing on the other two sides. The fencing should prevent most dogs (except possibly tiny toy breeds) from exiting the property, but it is the pet owner's responsibility to prevent escape. A note on the nearby beach: Playa La Cachora (aka Playa Tortugas) is an easy 5-minute walk from Casa Solana. Please beware that powerful Pacific Ocean swells often rise from deep water and hit the beach with great force and present serious danger of injury or worse. Swimming on this beach is not advised unless you are a confident, experienced swimmer and the waves are less than 1 meter (3 feet) in height. Swimming / surfing beaches are a short drive from Casa Solana. Casa Solana management now offers our guests WEEKLY cleaning at no extra cost as follows for guests who stay 2 weeks or longer. Guest access Gated parking (one covered parking place) for 2-3 cars on the property. It is possible to park outside the gate on the road. A car is necessary to make the best use of your time in Todos Santos and Baja California Sur. Other things to note (1) The gardening is handled by a Ruben and his parents, who speak Spanish. They begin work on Tuesday midday and Friday morning at about 8 a.m. to tend and clean Casa Solana's lush tropical garden. (2) Please note that Casa Solana has no television and no swimming pool; it does have solid wifi service, allowing our guests to stream or access entertainment on their own devices. And of course, Todos Santos and all of Baja California Sur offer endless sunshine and opportunities for adventure to satisfy almost any taste.
