A historic 18th Century Greek house with large rooms and wooden ceilings beautifully maintained in the style of time. With panoramic views of the island and sea. A 15 min walk up steps from the port and the beaches. Hydra is entirely without cars. The House belonged to Captain Oikonomou who fought in the Greek Independence War in 1821. Inherited by the Lialios sisters. They are slowly renovating and bringing it back to its full beauty. Some signs of ongoing work are still visible. The space There are 4 large guest bedrooms all with double beds, comfortable for 8 guests to stay. They overlook the green gardens and terraces of the property. The house has two floors. A kitchen on each floor. Many beautiful halls and living rooms. 2 large libraries. A large terrace overlooks the the whole island and the ocean perfect for watching the sunsets. Guest access You will rent the entire house so you have access to four bedrooms, the gardens and terraces, and of course living rooms and kitchens. Please note the gardens are not in perfect condition yet. Other things to note Hydra is an island entirely without cars and the perfect peaceful getaway from city life. It's a small paradise in Greece. Very close to Athens and easy to reach with a ferry in only an hour and a half. The island is famous for all the artists that have lived there.
