The space You have the entire house for your stay with a fully equipped kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a large deck, a massive fire pit area and green space up to the lake. The area is a very peaceful and calm part of Lake Palestine. PRIVATE DOCK * Swimming: Excellent swimming and floating right off the dock, with an easy access ladder. The lake bed is mostly sand, but be careful for the occasional tree stump. * Fishing: Bring your gear for great crappie and catfish! * Boating: Bring or rent a boat and tie up on the dock. From what we can tell, the water level doesn't get much below 3ft, but you will want to check the level just to be sure in the summer months. * Paddleboard: We provide two paddleboards that work great on the calm bay right off the dock. * Kayaking / Canoeing: Bring your gear to explore the lake. See below for additional details about each space. PARKING * Gated Driveway: Be careful driving through the gate and backing up. You are responsible for any damages done to our gate or our neighbors fence. * Long Driveway: Can usually fit 3-4 vehicles. Can also fit a tuck and a trailer, with room for car parking. * Parking on the street is available if needed. FISHING TOURNAMENTS * We have seen people fit two boats and two trucks in the driveway, but it is a tight fit. And it depends on the size of your boats on if this will work. If you have a large boat you probably will only be able to fit one truck and one boat. You can also park on the street as an option. * Normal checkout is at 10 AM. Fishing tournaments are usually done by 3PM, which means you will have to get packed up and checkout by the time you leave on the last day of the tournament. If you need a later checkout than 12 PM, you will need to reserve that night at the property. * We have one outlet you can use on the deck. I suggest bringing a 25' extension cord if you need to use it. Other things to note *** Only guests listed on the reservation are allowed on the property. NO PARTIES. *** *** NO Smoking in the house. NO pets. *** *** Fire wood and charcoal are not provided. *** - There are four external cameras on the property for security: one facing the gate, one in the parking area, one on the right side of the house and a camera on the deck (this one has audio recording turned off). It is against our house rules to disconnect the internet connection. - When using the charcoal grill, be mindful of the flame + canopy. When using the chimney starter, put it on the lowest grate in the grill since it can have higher flames. - The internet connection uses cell service, which is the best we can get in our rural location and is stable most of the time. If it does go out or become slow, it usually resolves itself in 30 - 60 minutes. - The more people who are connected to the internet at the same time, it can take up the available bandwidth and make things slow. - During growing season, we have the property mowed every two weeks on Wednesday after 9 AM. Usually doesn't take more than an hour. Please Note: If you do not have a verified government id and positive host reviews, we do require a $400.00 damage deposit to make a reservation. We will send you the money back after our cleaners get done on checkout day. This damage deposit is collected simply to protect the property and ensure it stays in great condition for all future guests. In our experience hosting, we have never had to keep any portion of the damage deposit because our guests have been incredibly respectful of our property. We understand certain ware and tear on a rental property is normal and only collect this deposit to deter parties and major damages. We also will send a rental agreement that we ask you to sign after booking. This is to ensure we are clear on how the property will be used, how long you will stay, etc. *** Hot water is limited, based on the size of the water heater we can fit.
