A spacious renovated lower level space. More spacious than 4 hotel rooms! Just minutes from downtown Harrisonburg and JMU with a serene country setting in the Shenandoah Valley. Note that this is a large 1200 sq ft basement space with our family of 3 living above. Ideal location for hiking, biking, fishing, skiing, JMU, or just a visit! The space At Sunset RidgeView, take in a western view of the Appalachian and Allegheny Mountain range. Take advantage of the outdoor fire pit as you sip and relax, table and chairs (seasonal) and gazebo. Enjoy a private outdoor entry by way of outdoor stairs to our fully renovated basement space. Inside you will be met with a large entry room to be able to store any gear with seats and hooks to put on shoes and hang coats. Please note that the entry room is shared with owner to access their unfinished space behind privacy screen. Doors to your main space beyond entry room doors are for guests only and are lockable and private. The open concept living area which includes a cozy sitting corner for morning coffee or evening read includes built in bookcase with books, games and puzzles, a large wood burning fireplace and a smart tv which has Apple TV, Netflix, Disney+ subscriptions for guest use. There is a full kitchen supplied for cooking including olive oil, salt, sugar, pots and pans. Enjoy the many options for your coffee: french press, pour over, drip (starter coffee is provided) as well as assorted tea bag options with an electric goose neck tea kettle. Plenty of shelving and an eat in island seating two. Dining table seats 5. One full bathroom with shower only and inset seat. Large vanity cabinet and eco option flush toilet. Two large bedrooms. One with a full size and a twin and the other with a queen bed. Each have an upholstered chair, wall mirrors, hooks, as well as dresser and/or closet with shelving and hanging rod. All windows have extra large window wells that bring in a lot of light but for the views you will need to step outside. There is central air conditioning and heat although the thermostat is not available for guest access. To supplement we have fans and portable heaters available. We have 7 acres to explore (2 acres partially fenced in). We also have 2 very friendly indoor rescue hound dogs that stay on a leash when outside. Owners live upstairs so please be consider of noise and be aware of the quiet hours. Come enjoy Harrisonburg and the surrounding areas. Parking is beside the grass on driveway and pathway is through marked by solar lights in the grass going behind the house. There is a stairway down to the basement space at the end of the lights. Please note you will need to navigate 15 steps down (with handrail) to get to the entry door.
