Welcome to Casa Nomi – a 100+ year old home that has been lovingly restored and is ready to host your friends & family in space and comfort. The elevated site of Casa Nomi delivers fresh breezes and Portage Lake views while nestled among acreage of trees on three sides. Casa Nomi is ideally situated between the charming Onekama downtown and Portage Point, with public access to both Portage Lake & Lake Michigan. With less than 2 miles in either direction, walking & biking are easy options. The space Casa Nomi’s property is lush, private and expansive. There is plenty of shaded parking and a convenient circle drive. Read or nap in the double hammock. Roll out a yoga mat on the 500+ sq. ft. forest deck or fire up a portable speaker for an epic, private dance party under the stars. Wander the forest paths till you come across the cold, fresh water bubbling up from artesian springs. While the rural internet access is NOT blazing fast, WiFi is available for the essentials so that you can still stay in touch. The house is set up to accommodate large groups with ease. The kitchen is properly equipped for those who like to cook and enjoy family meals. Two refrigerators, a full oven, high quality cookware, dishwasher, large BBQ grill and expansive dining areas inside and out all facilitate feeding your crew! Abundant screened windows and ceiling fans enable open air living, but the house is equipped with both AC and heating should the need arise. Guest access On the main level, you’ll find five bright bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, oversized living room, enclosed porch and multiple patio deck access points. 2 bathrooms were purposely designed to facilitate sharing – with toilet + sink enclosure separated from the shower + additional sink vanity. The third full bathroom features a clawfoot bathtub (with shower) and a full washer/dryer. Downstairs, accessed from the outside lower level, older kids will be thrilled to discover their own bonus room with bunk beds, game tables, TV, minifridge and sink/shower area. You will be the only guests on property during your stay. Other things to note No stay at Casa Nomi is complete without a visit to “Old Faithful”, Onekama’s year-round artesian well. Grab your water bottle and walk just 200 feet from our driveway to partake of the cleanest, coldest, most delicious water in the state.
