The Birch Creek House is a 1900sqft, 3 bed, 3.5 bath house on 160 private acres 5 miles outside of the City of Escalante. The house is steps away from its name sake, the Birch Creek, which cascades down 2 waterfalls before joining with North Creek to form the Escalante River. The land borders Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. In addition to the double waterfall mentioned above, the property also features several pictographs, petroglyphs, cliff dwellings of past inhabitants. The space The Birch Creek House is a 1950 sqft house, built in 2022, on 160 acres of private land. The house is steps away from its name sake, the Birch Creek, which cascades down 2 waterfalls before joining with North Creek to form the Escalante River. The land borders Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. In addition to the double waterfall mentioned above, the property also features several pictographs, petroglyphs, cliff dwellings and granaries of past inhabitants. The centerpiece of the house is a 40ft wide, 8ft tall sliding glass door that acts as a passive solar heating system in the winter and gives the room an incredible view of the beautiful Eagles Canyon and Main Canyon. The sliding window opens up onto a patio where guests can sit and listen to the Birch Creek, enjoy the outdoor firepit, swim in the river/waterfalls, hike around the property, etc... In the winter, guests can enjoy a wood burning stove while admiring the Escalante Grand Staircase National Monument out of the picture windows. The house features Starlink internet and wifi throughout the house. Come enjoy the newest, most secluded rental home with the best views in Escalante! Sleeping arrangements: Master Bedroom: 1 king bed 2nd Bedroom: 1 king bed 3rd Bedroom: 1 king bed with a single bed above it, and a single pull out bed below it Living Room: 4 chairs that fold out into single beds With the large outdoor area, this property would also be incredible as a yoga retreat, wedding venue, corporate retreat, etc... Contact owner for arrangements. The only pets we allow are the kind that eat grass and live outside. Horses, goats, sheep would all be fine. We have lots of pasture by the house and they can drink out of the river. We don't have the entire property fenced in so you'd need to bring some panels to make a corral or keep them tied up. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire house and all the 160 acre private ranch that the house sits on. Other things to note PETROGLYPHS/PICTOGRAPHS/RUINS: The property that the Escalante Cliff House resides on is home to the oldest evidence of human habitation on the Colorado Plateau (search "North Creek Shelter Utah"). Since that time, many other Native American cultures have called this land home. There are numerous Petroglyphs/Pictographs/Ruins/Arrowheads/Pottery Shards etc… all over the property. Due to the historic and sensitive nature of the property, any person caught vandalizing/removing/disturbing these treasures will be removed from the property and reported to the BLM. Under the Archeological Resources Protection Act (ARPA), these acts of vandalism are illegal and are punishable by up to 2 years in prison and/or a $20,000 fine.
