Rustic Little Cabin

Peaceful and relaxing for the whole family. Located on our family cattle ranch, our rustic, one room cabin is at the foothills of Heart Mountain. We are located about 20 miles from Cody, WY and about 60 miles from the East Gate of Yellowstone National Park. The space Brad built our one room cabin with barn wood from the surrounding Yellowstone area. Most everything was built by hand and our sons pitched in with roofing it, making the dining table, the bed frame and shower tile etc. It was built in 2022-2023 and our other son who is an electrician put in all the modern conveniences of electrical power . Guest access You are welcome to go for walks on our ranch roads and fish in the pond . We offer free catch and release fishing in our reservoir from the bank or dock for our guests. Adults must have a nonresident fishing license. $14. Kids can fish without a license as long as an adult has a license. Lots of Rainbow and Brook Trout. Great morning and evening fun for the family. If you’re planning on fishing, we highly recommend that you bend the barbs down on your hook so it’s easier to release the fish and keep them alive. You are welcome to use the boat. Other things to note There is enough floor space for a couple of air mattresses. Let us know before hand if you need them and extra bedding! Also it cools down most every night here on Heart MT so we don’t have air conditioning in the cabin ( we don’t have it in our house either) . We open the windows at night to let the cool fresh air in. But we will provide a fan in case you would like one and there’s a ceiling fan above the bed. There is a small portable propane grill available also. Our son is building a house near by so there may be some construction going on at times during the day, mostly in August and the beginning of September. If you have any questions please message us!
