On warm evenings, the large terrace offers a cool alternative to the inner dining room. In winter, the weather can get very rough, then the warm clothing is also a must in the interiors. The BBQ area with views of the Balkan Mountains's gentle elevations is perfect for BBQing, but also for resting or chatting. Guest access Even though the 3.5 km long road to the house is dry, the drive is challenging and not recommended with every car. We will be happy to advise you by phone if you do want to drive your own car. If you come by rental car, then we recommend Dacia Duster. Please do not hesitate to contact us in advance. Our sporty guests often park their cars in the suburb of Razpopovtsi and then walk uphill the forest road for about 35 minutes. The renovated part of the house as well as the yard and the garden are at our guests disposal. The beautiful old barn still needs to be restored and since the roof is unstable, access is not permitted. The drinking water fountain is outside the property, 5-6 minutes, towards the northwest. The property is fenced so our gesture can feel undisturbed by our dogs and goats. The cars parked outside the property. Other things to note The cottage is located 5 kilometers from Elena and 30km from the medieval capital VelikoTarnovo. The small mountain settlement of only eight farmhouses is surrounded by the gentle foothills of the Balkan Mountains in the north and east and a mixed forest in the south. To the west, the view extends to the highest peaks in the central Balkans. The grounds are well suited for mountain biking, hiking and white water hikes. The last 5 photos show attractions that are further away and accessible only by car. We recommend it for longer stays. The town of Elena also has plenty to offer. A tourist office is at the center across from the main square.
