The windows are sound-proofed when closed, but when they are open you can hear sounds from the street and the historic riverside tram that goes past the house during the day. The Area Just outside the door are a selection of local traditional Portuguese restaurants and cafes, as well as Pedro Lemos, a fine dining restaurant with a Michelin star. This lovely and charming neighbourhood is known specifically for its authentic Portuguese food and drinks.
