Description

Parrot Nest Lodge is truly a unique tropical experience. Close to all the adventurous tours, and very close to San Ignacio, while having a distinctive jungly feel. Heliconia is a small garden cabin with a private deck. It has a double bed, a fan, 110w plugs (electricity 24/7), and multiple shared bathrooms (with hot/cold water) that are located nearby. Listed room rates are for accommodations only. Dinner at US$18 and Breakfast at US$8 can be ordered onsite. The space The Nest is in Bullet Tree Falls, and while just over 3 miles from downtown San Ignacio, it feels like a different world since we have a 100+ foot canopy. The mighty Mopan River runs through the yard; in fact, it's on 3 sides of us since we're on a private peninsula. The colectivo taxis are $1.50US per person, one way, from Bullet Tree to San Ignacio. They run all day, and drop you off, and pick you up, in the center of downtown. We have a kitchen, and provide guest with: DINNER US$17.50 BZE$36.00 (entree, salad, veggies, starch, and dessert) BREAKFAST US$8.00 BZE$16.00 (eggs, toast, fruit, GOOD coffee, tea, juice) We cook for all diets and are now more famous for our food than having treehouses. We usually hang out and eat with guests so we can exchange travel stories (and life lessons, lol). The only added expense on the cabins is the government required BTB room tax of 9% that will be charged on site upon checkout. What else: Wi-Fi in the common area, free tubes (for the free river excursions), river front access. Will gladly take you to town if we're heading in for a supply run. We have local beers US$3 and sodas US$1.5 in the common area fridge. We have free water and tea and encourage everyone to stay hydrated in the tropics. We love animals and have 3 rescue cats and 2 rescue dogs that will adopt you, haha! Guest access Common space with telephone for calling in tours, wifi in common sapce, sitting areas and hammocks. Dining with other guest, gardens, riverbank and swimming, river tubing. Easy five-minute walk to bust stop for shared transport to and from San Ignacio town. Other things to note We have a dragonfly security perimeter, so we have virtually no mosquitoes.
