The space COVERED FRONT PORCH/LARGE YARD- The relaxing atmosphere of the creekside porch is a guest favorite from sun up to sun down. It provides lots of shade and that flowing creek sound! Drink coffee on the gliders and catch a glimpse of wildlife in the woods. The wide front steps always draw a crowd. It’s a gathering place for watching family play one of the many games we have for the huge front yard. From intense badminton matches to rounds of corn hole, this is the spot! We have it all. There’s a small table for happy hour sips and snacks under the glow of the front porch string lights. Many memory making opportunities! RAFTS- Also included to use at your own risk in the lake or river are small blow up boats and large float rafts! Life jackets can be borrowed at the lake. Or just grab a chair and sit and cool off in the creek. HUNTING/FISHING- You may bring and shoot your own BB guns safely into the woods next to the front yard only; safely of course. The creek (Little Hickory Run) is stocked with trout in the spring! Our property is attached to 175 acres of public hunting land owned by Colins Pine logging company. The property and woods however are not set up for mini bikes, dirt bikes or atvs and are not permitted to be ridden there. FIREWOOD-BYOW or purchase nearby at George’s Little Store in East Hickory on Route 62. There’s a cart and wheelbarrow provided to move wood right from your vehicle. FULLY STICKED EAT-IN KITCHEN- The updated kitchen includes large pantry shelves because all you’ll need to bring is your food! I’ve got the rest covered! From the little amenities like spices and cooking spray to the Keurig and coffee pot; it’s stocked! Blender, crockpot, wine glasses and koozies; it’s all there for your stay! The large dining table is also in the kitchen to gather around for game nights. There’s a portable high chair for the little one too. I do recommend bringing paper plates for eating around the campfire! FAMILY ROOM- Guests love this large log cabin room! Play a game of ping-pong or relax and read in the book nook. There’s a new couch and tv and plenty of seating! The wagon wheel game table is a favorite spot for playing one of the many games that I have. Art supplies are also included for those rainy days! WIFI INCLUDED- There is Wi-Fi but you could always pretend like there isn’t and really disconnect! No cell service without connecting to our WiFi. Take a trip back in time and enjoy one of the hundreds of DVDs there! DOWNSTAIRS BEDROOM- The first-floor bedroom is connected to the living room. No air but it stays cool. There is a full-sized bed in order to accommodate people that need to stay on the first floor. There’s also a twin bed. A pack and play and baby gate can be found here. 2 UPSTAIRS BEDROOMS/EXTRA BEDS A spiral staircase leads to two rustic yet cozy bedrooms. There’s a full bed and one twin in the first room. Ceiling and window fan in this room. The larger bedroom has one queen bed and a twin! A small window AC is in this room. A pack 'n play and single air mattress are also at the cabin for any room. The chair in the book nook can also fold out into a single sleeper for teens/kids. Floors upstairs are rustic wood and I like to bring slippers. AMPLE PARKING- Freshly graveled driveway with ample parking for around 8. Wooden bridge is secure with steel beams under but would be too narrow for oversized trucks. You may be able to park up near the road before the mailbox if that is an issue. No campers. FIRE PIT WOODS & CREEK- You couldn’t ask for more outside! Take a walk in the woods or creek and enjoy the changing leaves surrounding the cabin in the fall. There is a large fire-pit with plenty of chairs. Look up and gaze at the stars through the giant pines. Kids and dogs could spend all day in the creek exploring or looking for fossils, salamanders and crayfish. You don't really ever need to leave the property to have a wonderful vacation! OUTDOOR DINING- Bring paper plates and enjoy a picnic on our table. We have two grills for summer meals outside. Charcoal is not provided but propane is! Book "Hickory Creek Haven" now and you'll be booking next year's trip before you leave! Guest access The entire cabin is yours with a back and front yard, creek and woods to explore! Other things to note Campers and oversized trucks will not work on our bridge. Wooden bridge to cross to get to the house. It has steel beams under and is strong. Please take your time crossing! Some people like to pass it up and come in from the opposite direction by turning around on Connelly Hill Road for a better angle. Only one bedroom has a window AC unit. Other 2 bedrooms have fans. Large AC unit in main living room area Two bedrooms require guests to climb a metal spiral staircase. Staircase is not meant for toddlers and children should be supervised on staircase.
