The space Through a small hallway and the historic spiral staircase you enter the apartment on the second floor of the side wing, which is furnished in a mixture of modern and classic furniture. Right at the beginning, the view falls on a seating area of beautiful old period furniture. Turn left to the bedrooms. In the master bedroom with double bed you can still discover the old original sandstone wall. From the window you have a view of the garden and the old farm, which used to belong to the castle. The second bedroom offers two single beds, ideal for children and teenagers. To the right is the living area. In the dining room with adjoining kitchen, the historic wooden wall from the time of construction can still be seen and creates a cozy atmosphere. Next door is a small lounge, which can be converted into another bedroom with a sofa bed. The bathroom is located right next to the entrance. _______________________________________________ Please note that the apartment is not handicapped accessible or barrier-free! It is accessible only via a spiral staircase and the bathroom is equipped with a bathtub with shower. _____________________________________________ Our guest apartments have an exciting history: This part of the southeast wing was still a prison 200 years ago - the front vestibule of the "Royal Bavarian/Princely Schwarzenberg Dominion Court at Hohenlandsberg"! Seehaus Castle was the seat of this court from 1809 to 1848, which was subordinate to the Princes of Schwarzenberg. For this purpose, nine arrest cells were built in the northern part of the southeast wing in 1816. On each floor there were three cells next to each other, separated by strong wooden walls. The inmates were prevented from escaping by thick walls, wooden and iron doors and barred windows. Most of the time, however, a criminal, called "the Schröckenberger," apparently managed to escape in 1832, But at least the cells were heatable! For this purpose, there were two small doors in the dungeon corridor through which the stoves could be fired from the outside. And after many modern renovations, it has become quite cozy here today. Some traces of the former use can still be seen when you look around! Guest access A spacious, lockable apartment with 4 rooms, kitchen and bathroom is at your disposal. In addition, each guest can use the adjoining Schlossgarten. Other things to note From May to September, classical concerts are regularly held in Seehaus Castle. The program will be online on the castle's homepage from April. In one of the two small houses on the castle grounds, artist Susanne Habermann has her studio. If you want to take a special memory home with you, you can have your portrait painted by her or take drawing lessons. The Probst winery is within walking distance. Round off your visit with a wine tasting or secure the best wines for your home. In the Wirtshaus am Markt (right next to the village church) you can indulge in culinary delights from Wednesday to Sunday. When arriving, keep in mind that there are no direct shopping facilities in the village. The nearest bakery and butcher shop is in Sugenheim (5 km). In Uffenheim (10 km) you have several supermarkets (Aldi, Edeka) available. _______________________________________________ Please note that the apartment is not handicapped accessible or barrier-free!
