There are also tennis courts, a small beach and lots of great places to see on a walk. Tour America's Grape Country with over 30,000 vineyard acres, 23 wineries known as Lake Erie Wine Country, and the Grape Discovery Center along a 50-mile stretch of Lake Erie's shoreline. Chautauqua County boasts a diversity of trail areas and scenic parks for hiking, off-road cycling, and birding. Fall in Chautauqua County is marked by gorgeous foliage, harvest flavors and haunted events. Winter activities in Chautauqua include hiking, skiing, snowboarding, horse-drawn carriage rides and shopping. Check out the National Comedy Museum in Jamestown which is approximately a 25 minute drive away. The Chautauqua Institution "season" runs for 9 weeks in the summer.
