Guesthouse in Shamley Green
Guesthouse in Shamley Green
Description
This one bedroom studio with kitchenette and separate shower room is on the site of E H Shepard's original art studio where he drew Winnie The Pooh and his other famous illustrations between the years of 1909 and 1928. Copies of Shepard's sketches are on display and his original wood burning stove, though no longer working, remains. The studio is in a quiet, gated location a few minutes walk from the village green with its store, cafe and local pubs. 15 minute drive to Guildford/Cranleigh. The space Beautifully appointed space in an area of outstanding natural beauty; cycling, running and walking heaven in the Surrey hills. Milk, bread, butter, fresh eggs, tea and coffee supplied for your breakfast. The open plan living of approximately 50 square metres has underfloor heating, super king bed (which can be made up as twin beds), vaulted ceiling, WIFI, an external covered veranda with table, chairs and hammock seats. It also has a small terrace. The kitchenette comprises fridge, dishwasher, sink, toaster/egg cooker, coffee machine and kettle. Microwave can be added on request. Guest access Parking is easy, right outside the studio. 6 steps, with a handrail lead up to studio front door. A steep slope can be used instead of the steps (which has one small step). Other things to note We do have a friendly dog golden retriever. We are very happy to fulfil additional requests, for example, a fire pit stocked with wood and marshmallows ready to toast (for an additional fee). Feel free to use the tennis court (at your own risk!)
