The space 1 bedroom, 1 bath (tub & shower) modern house on securely fenced & gated 2.5 private acres just one mile from Joshua Tree National Park west entrance. Fold-out couch sleeps 2 in living room. NO PETS. We do not use instant-book, so send info about you and your planned visit in first message. This is our vacation place that we use often, and rarely make available when we are not there, so it's fully stocked and has lived-in feel. And cleaned disinfected before check in. 36 time consecutive super host, the longest possible badge holding; hosting at this property since 2010. 4-person & 2-car max. $100 cleaning fee. NO PETS. $70 per night additional per extra guest beyond 2. L2 electric vehicle charger on-site for no extra charge. The house can sleep 4 guests with the use of the fold-out couch. Joshua Tree is 140 miles (2hours) from Los Angeles; 40 miles from Palm Springs. —Property located on a dirt road, as most roads are in JT, in the safe and monitored Monument Manor neighborhood. Fenced and gate locked property for added safety. —1972 structure gutted & sustainably rebuilt starting 2008, green building guided + yearly updates —Solar panels installed in Dec 2015 making the house 100% solar powered. Tied to the Grid so 100% power always available —Evaporative cooling system works great when not humid —Fujitsu A/C & heating wall unit added 2016: works like HVAC, set remote control thermostat for desired temp. —Wood burning stove -- read on-site instruction for wood-stove fire building. Firewood included for use with interior wood-stove during winter months. —Additional electric units for short term heat in each room and bathroom for winter months. —WiFi at the house/property, but no land line. Cell service is spotty but OK. —Outside fire pits on both east and west side outdoor areas -- provide your own wood for outdoor use. (only used when no winds). —Composting bin outside by firewood bins - place all food scraps here. Kitchen: East-facing, fully stocked All-Electric kitchen with 2017 Whirlpool wall oven & 2015 Frigidaire Gallery 4-burner induction cook top + 5-speed vent hood. 12 cu. ft fridge/freezer. Also includes toaster oven, grill/panini press, electric wok, toaster, electric tea kettle, coffee press, 12-cup drip coffee maker, small stainless steel blender & outdoor propane grill. Location has Joshua Basin Water (good clean to drink)+ brita filter pitcher. Cookware, knives, serving utensils all provided + basic oils, salts, spices there for use also. *No microwave, not our cooking style. DO NOT CUT directly on wooden countertops, plenty of cutting boards provided. Sleeping: Queen pillow-top mattress on platform bed & ceiling fan in bedroom. Living room couch pulls out to a full-size bed. Extra linens provided as needed. Bathroom: Travertine stone walled bathroom includes tub/shower combo & copper sink. Stocked with aroma-filled organic and biodegradable soaps & shampoo. Towels & linens are supplied. Outdoor shower on north side of house facing the beautiful natural rock pile for summer fun. 2023 Samsung energy efficient washer & dryer with biodegradable detergents. We dry our linens & towels on the outdoor line when possible. Electronics / Interior: We offer top tier availability for Wi-Fi internet in this desert area via local pic- point provider Mojave wifi. Yamaha amplifier stereo with 2023 Hi-Fi Polk speakers for FM radio, CD & Vinyl sounds. OR use Miccus bluetooth or mini-jack to pair your device with stereo. CD/ DVD player with assorted movies and music available also. Technics 1210 turntable + assorted vinyl! Also Jambox bluetooth speaker available. Games & books & magazines for down time pleasure: Scrabble, Connect 4, Chess, Checkers, Backgammon, Dominos, Cards, Monopoly, Bingo and more. 4 yoga mats for use on property, enjoy a sunrise yoga session among the rock pile. No TV in the house. No Cable. No landline. AT&T wireless works best in neighborhood, other cell service spotty in house, connections better outside. NO PETS. Kitchen & Dining Room face East, Sun rises over the rocks in the JT National Park. Living Room & Bedroom face West/Sundown. There is padded outdoor seating (cushions kept inside) on each side of the house and a hammock that clips in the tree, plus outdoor fire pits. Provide your own firewood for any outdoor fires. Outdoor shower on north side of house facing the beautiful natural rock pile for summer fun. Bring your bike or hike the area. 4 miles from great restaurants and shops along highway 62 @ Park Blvd including Crossroads Cafe, a Saturday morning outdoor farmers market, JT health food store (awesome mini-grocer), Country Kitchen, The Dez. Before you reach JT on Hwy 62 you pass through town of Yucca Valley (12 miles from JT) with grocery stores (Grocery Outlet, Vons, Stater Bros), more restaurants, Walmart, Big 5, Rite Aid, Walgreens. City of 29 Palms is 12 miles away the other direction (east) with some great spots: Grocery Outlet, Stater Bros, Freedom Plaza visitor center and great restaurants (list provided with booking) and the 29 Palms entrance to the National Park. If you have never been to Joshua Tree, CA do a search and find out more about the climate for your specific time of year before your visit. July/August/Sept are very hot and winters are very cold. Spring and Fall are amazing. March/April is desert flowers in bloom. October/November is magical. And look for a rare snow in Dec/Jan. Come prepared for the climate and always hydrate.
