Rose cottage is in a stunning location in the countryside surrounded by fields just below the ridgeway and 1 mile outside the historic market town of Wantage. It is the perfect starting point for walking, running and biking along the beautiful ridgeway. You will need your own car as there is no public transport nearby but there is plenty of parking outside the house and we can recommend good local taxi companies if necessary. The space The space is set over 2 floors. You walk into a hallway which has a desk if needed for work. To the left is a kitchen with dining table and to the right is the sitting room. Up stairs there is a double room, twin room and bathroom. There is an outside table and chairs behind the cottage with its own garden for sunny days. We are in the middle of the countryside but within easy reach of Oxford, Hungerford, Lambourn, Newbury, Abingdon and Harwell. The nearest train station is Didcot Parkway, which is a 20 minute drive and the M4 is 12 minutes south. There are lots of friendly pubs offering good food in the surrounding villages and plenty of pretty walks up on the ridgeway/Berkshire downs from the doorstep. Guest access Guests have the cottage to themselves with their own entrance. Other things to note We do have lots of animals here - dogs, chickens, ducks and ponies which we are very happy for you to say hello to but please don't feed. Our 2 dogs do like to come and say hello, especially if you are bringing any dogs, and we will do our best to make sure they don't bother you but the cottage isn't fully fenced in so the whippet can jump over the fence!
