Luxurious Shepherd's Hut - Great Countryside Views

Our secluded shepherd's hut "Badger's Den" is situated in an idyllic location on the edge of North Oxfordshire, surrounded by nature with breath taking countryside views, and designed to provide you with an unforgettable retreat experience. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway, a peaceful break, or a digital detox, we’ve got you covered. Experience the charm and comfort of our shepherd's hut, complete with modern amenities and a covered outdoor seating area with a gas BBQ and firepit. The space Our shepherd's hut "Badger's Den" is fully insulated and has everything you need for a cosy and relaxing stay: It has a full size double bed, which lifts up to create an open plan comfy seating area with cushions. There is a kitchenette equipped with gas hob, fridge (with small freezer compartment), kettle, toaster, utensils and sink with running hot and cold water. There is a private en-suite in the hut, with a flush loo, modern shower and sink. It is equipped with board games, a range of books and a radio for entertainment during your stay and Wi-Fi is available to all guests for free. We supply high quality freshly washed bedding, towels and loo roll. In the Hut there is a wood-burning stove to keep you toasty and warm in the evenings, we provide a starter pack of kindling and firelighters, and more wood is available to purchase should it be needed. Outside the hut, there is a bench, table and fire pit positioned with a great view overlooking the valley, as well as a covered seating area with a large gas BBQ and all utensils. Guest access The shepherd's hut overlooks our 50 acres of land offering a stunning valley view, it is east facing so is also a great viewing spot for a beautiful sunrise. There is a private entrance and track leading up to the shepherd's hut on the top corner of the land, where guests can park for free. Guests are allowed to wander around the land where the shepherd's hut is situated: We have a nature trail around the edge of the fields with a small water stream and there is a natural spring/oasis in the middle of the land which has formed into a small pond - we have placed a bench there and this is a very peaceful spot - great for bird watching too! There is also a tree nursery at the bottom of the valley; so we have an abundance of wildlife that visits us here, keep an eye out for all sorts of wildlife when exploring ! We also have up to 100 sheep which graze the land so if you visit in spring you will get to see the very cute new-born lambs frolicking the fields. Other things to note If you are a family and would like to bring a tent for your children to stay with you, you are welcome to pitch your own tent (at no additional cost) behind the shepherd's hut, please let us know as a special request when booking. We do not supply extra bedding/beds/tent etc.
