Charming Historic Central Texas Cottage
Situated on a large lot with mature trees, the home is two blocks from downtown San Saba and boasts over 2,700 square feet, three bedrooms, two updated bathrooms, a large kitchen, covered porches, and dedicated work space with high speed internet. There is a large circle drive or street space available for those who need trailer/equipment parking. The home was built in 1877 for John Guion, who served as San Saba county judge and was president of the Texas A&M board of directors from 1914-1918. The space The home has been updated keeping as many original features as possible. Mostly original wood floors run throughout, and there are original beveled glass doors and transom windows, built-ins, and original fireplaces, though they are currently non-working. Three spacious bedrooms will sleep up to 8 people. A master bedroom with a king size bed boasts an en-suite bathroom, while the second bedroom (queen bed) and third bedroom (double, twin, and twin trundle) share a large hall bathroom. The second bedroom closet contains a pack ‘n’ play and a bed rail for our littlest visitors. A covered front porch extends across most of the house, and a partially covered back porch will seat 6-8 people for outdoor dining. There is a dedicated work space with fiber-optic internet and a monitor set up in the bonus room. Also located in the desk cabinets in the bonus room are a small assortment of toys, books and art supplies. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking full meals and serving a crowd. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire property, save locked owner’s closets.
