Start your morning on the log swing in the spacious front yard with a fresh-brewed cup of coffee from our well-appointed coffee bar while you watch the resident wildlife visit the property. Use our hiking guide books, maps and personal recommendations to plan your day of sightseeing or out on one of the many nearby trails. When you return from your exploring let the kids play on the playground at the adjacent city park, or spend some time making friendship bracelets at our "arts & crafts" station, and then make your favorite dinner in the full-service kitchen or on the grill. If you don’t feel like cooking, visit one of our favorite restaurants, Skogen Kitchen or Black Hills Burger & Bun, just a few blocks away! Spend your evening singing campfire songs around the firepit, dueling it out on the foose ball table or arcade in the game room, or catching up on your favorite show on the Roku TV in the cozy living room. End your amazing day by snuggling under 100% cotton sheets on the brand-new Nectar memory foam and hybrid mattresses. Camp Cottonwood has three bedrooms, two with queen beds, one with two twin beds, and sleeps a total of six people. There is a laundry room with washer and dryer that you are welcome to use during your stay. Laundry detergent is provided. The full kitchen has an electric stove and oven, microwave, full-sized fridge, pots and pans, dishes, utensils, baking dishes, cooking oil, salt and pepper, and more. Our fully-stocked tea and coffee bar includes whole beans, Ninja drip brewer, a Chemex, Bodum burr grinder, gooseneck kettle, Escali coffee scale, tea, cream, and sugar. We provide dish soap and a drying rack. The living room and both queen bedrooms have Roku Smart TVs for use with your own steaming services, but you should know they don't have local channels or cable. The main-level bathroom has a stall-shower, and the downstairs bathroom has a tiled shower with a bathtub. Both bathrooms are stocked with 100% cotton towels. We provide shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Camp Cottonwood has high-speed internet, window air-conditioners in the living room and bedrooms, and cove heating throughout. Keep your vehicle safe from hail storms (common in the summertime in this area) by parking under the two-stall carport. More about the area: This property borders Harbach Centennial Park, which includes the trailhead for the Custer Skywalk hiking trails. We are located just blocks from Mt. Rushmore Rd. (our main street) in Custer, and just one block from the Custer Visitors Center, and public sand volleyball courts, skate park, and tennis courts. Custer is centrally located to Custer State Park, Jewel Cave National Monument, Wind Cave National Park, Mount Rushmore National Memorial, the Mickelson Trail and dozens of beautiful lakes and hiking/biking trails. Guest access As our guest you will have access to all of the rooms on the main level of the house, and the game room and bathroom in the basement. We keep two storage rooms in the basement locked. Other things to note From the entryway there are three steps up to the main level. The Master bedroom is one step down from the dining room, and the basement is down a full flight of stairs. There is a roughly 25-yard paved walk from the parking area to the front door. Please take this into consideration when making your plans to stay at Camp Cottonwood.
