🦭 Located in the quiet and picturesque hamlet of Hourdel, on the edge of the Bay of Somme, the "Le Phare" gîte immerses you in an authentically maritime atmosphere. This small fishing port, as if timeless, planted between sky and sea on the tip of the Hourdel south of the bay, faces the Marquenterre ornithological park which is home to a very wide variety of birds and is a privileged place for the observation of local fauna and flora. 🦭 The space 🦭 Le Hourdel is located a few kilometers from Saint Valéry sur Somme, a charming village offering a wide variety of shops and many restaurants... With its iconic lighthouse and a few dozen fishermen's houses, Le Hourdel is a must-see destination for lovers of natural spaces and wildlife. It is an ideal place for long walks by the sea, water activities and bike rides, but also for watching seals. The site is indeed known for housing, throughout the year, a colony of seals that bask on the sandbanks at low tide, observable from the cottage. Finally, two restaurants specializing in seafood complete this picture and will make you appreciate the culinary specialties of the region. The gîte, in duplex, accessible by a spiral staircase in the spirit of marine lighthouses, offers exceptional views of the Bay of Somme. It has a separate entrance and consists, on the 1st floor, of a beautiful living room with a living/dining room and fully equipped American kitchen as well as a bathroom with shower and toilet. On the upper floor, there is a master bedroom with a double bed of 140 decorated with a unique and panoramic view of the sea and a child/teenager bedroom with two pull-out beds. The gîte offers all modern comforts (washing machine, dishwasher, oven and microwave, filter coffee machine and Nespresso etc.) as well as high-speed internet access and television at your disposal. The rental, offered for a minimum of two nights, is available for weekends and/or weekdays throughout the year. (We provide a parking card so that you can park for free in Cayeux sur Mer as well as its hamlets (Le Hourdel, La Molière, Brighton...). We ask for a contribution of 5 euros/per day. Le Hourdel is located only a few kilometers from the charming town of Saint Valery sur Somme, with many shops and good restaurants. Le Hourdel is a unique traveling destination for nature and wildlife lovers. It is an ideal place for endless walks along the beautiful shore, for water sports and for bicycle rides as well as seal spotting. The area is indeed well known for its seal colony, basking on the sandbanks visible from the apartment. Last but not least, two nice seafood restaurants will offer you a unique gourmet experience. The duplex apartment accessible via a spiral staircase, as a reminiscence of a real lighthouse, provides a unique panorama of the Bay of Somme. A private entrance will lead you to the first floor, a spacious living room with an open equipped kitchen. On this same floor, there is a bathroom with a shower and toilet. On the second floor, you will enjoy a double bedroom with a panoramic view of the sea and a children's bedroom with two single beds. The apartment "Le Phare" offers all modern conveniences (washing machine, dishwasher, oven, microwave oven, coffee machine, Nespresso coffee machine, etc.) as well as internet access. "Le Phare" is free to rent for weekends or the whole week, all year round (not less than two days).
