In the heart of Tauranga's peaceful countryside lies this classic lockwood one bedroom cottage. Kereru cottage is located adjacent but completely separate to our family home on a 1.75ha property. Ask to feed the sheep and the chickens with us or take a tour of our organic vege garden and home fruit orchard. We’re pleased to now be providing locally sourced milk and our own organic eggs. They both pair beautifully with bread , muesli and a hot coffee from our coffee machine for your breakfast. The space A spacious living room that flows into an open-plan kitchen. Large windows fill the space with natural light. The master bedroom has a queen bed, the lounge has a sofa bed and a dining table. There is a smart TV with Netflix and free high speed WiFi. Fully self-contained, well equipped and comfortable. The kitchen includes an oven with a stovetop, a fridge/freezer and a microwave, toaster, mixer and kettle. A bathroom with a bathtub, shower, toilet with a washing machine. A porch with outdoor seating, barbecue and fireplace completes the space. Guest access The true charm of this AirBNB is outside, sit on the spacious covered porch and enjoy a cuppa while you watch the sheep grazing on the hillside.You have independent access to the whole property including the children’s play equipment and lawns .Our property is covered in mature trees which are home to a huge variety of birdlife. Suits all from a one night stay cation to digital nomads for longer stays. Take a walk through the fruit and vege garden and meet our friendly chickens and friendlier black labrador Holly. Other things to note For those wanting to explore beach activities, Omokoroa Beach is 20 mins drive and Mount Maunganui Beach is a 35 mins drive . Hobbiton movie set is only an hour away . Stay with us and enjoy a peaceful hobbit like lifestyle. Rotorua is also one hour's drive. Enjoy the natural hot pools in this thermal and adventure wonderland. Essentials like supermarkets, doctors, pharmacies and service stations are within a 20 min drive making this a great place to base yourself to explore the region. Cellphone coverage is patchy but we provide free wifi. For lunch ,Omokoroa is ten minutes away and has many options including Musa Sushi and Japanese cuisine, Omokoroa beach Pizza, Alma Eatery and the Skippers restaurant on the wharf. Te Puna favourites, the Clarke Road Eatery, Nourish cafe, the White House restaurant and the Te Puna Deli are all within a 15 min drive.
