Description

The Annexe at The Crossways is a detached self-contained annexe, next to but completely separate from the main house, comprising most of the downstairs and all the upstairs above the garage space. The Annexe has its own private garden area for your sole use, with outdoor furniture, a barbeque (with charcoal provided) a little chimenea and rugs to keep cosy in the evenings. You are welcome to use the tennis court – basic racquets and balls are provided. The space The space The Annexe enjoys a private entranceway area through the large garage door, providing very useful and secure storage for bikes, golf clubs, wellies, etc. This leads to a newly installed fully equipped modern kitchen including electric hob, oven, fridge (with small freezer), microwave and an integrated washing machine. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking with the addition of a Nespresso machine, and we provide a selection of simple breakfast items along with tea and coffee for your first morning. There is also a bathroom with shower on this level with complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and soap. Upstairs is a large and sunny room with lovely views over the garden and countryside which can be enjoyed from the south facing balcony. There is a cosy sitting area with 55’ Sony Bravia TV including Netflix and a free movies service, alongside a dining table overlooking the views. At the other end of the space is a bedroom area with a king size bed with award winning “Emma” mattress and hypoallergenic bedding with Egyptian cotton sheets, dressing table/work desk and a large open wardrobe. Free WiFi is included. The local area Wickham is a short drive or 5 minute walk away, it is a thriving village with several restaurants, pubs and shops. With ten restaurants/cafes there is plenty of choice for casual or more formal dining, as well as a large well stocked CoOp (open long hours) and several takeaways. Details are provided at the property, and we are happy to advise. In early August the Wickham Music Festival is right next to the property, a perfect spot to enjoy a relaxed and charming festival without the camping! Only a couple of minutes’ walk from the property is a popular farm shop stocking the usual local meats but also vegetables, dairy products, artisan breads, wines and deli items. Things to do. Close to the South Downs National Park, the area has lots of walks and bike rides nearby, with several golf courses, and beautiful Hampshire villages worth a visit. The south coast is only a 15 minute drive away offering views of the Isle of Wight and water sports. We are 20 minutes’ drive from Portsmouth with its Historic Dockyard including Nelson’s “Victory” and the Tudor “Mary Rose” museum, next door to outlet shopping and restaurants at the Gunwharf Quays waterfront centre. Winchester is around half an hour away (with Marwell Zoo on the way) which offers a wealth of historical interest and the beautiful cathedral, as well as sophisticated dining including Rick Stein’s restaurant and The Ivy, along with shopping and a regular farmers’ market and artisan stalls. Southampton to the west and Chichester to the east are both around 30 minutes away. Also within half an hour is the New Forest featuring Beaulieu’s Motor museum and Palace, along with Exbury gardens. Another popular trip is Jane Austin’s House in Chawton. Guest access Guest access There is a dedicated parking space outside the Annexe. We have a lockbox to access the keys and will respect your privacy, but we can be contacted for any queries. Other things to note Other things to note.
