Butterwell Cottage, Dartmoor

Butterwell Cottage is a two bedroom, two bathroom stand alone Cottage set within the hamlet of Collihole near Chagford, Devon. The Cottage is thatched and typical of the Dartmoor region and was originally used as a hay barn. The tall ceiling, open plan sitting room and kitchen has a large south facing window allowing natural light to flood into the space. A wood burning stove keeps you cosy in the evening and with the electric AGA also transmitting heat, the Cottage is very comfortable. The space This two bedroom thatched cottage has been gorgeously refurbished with careful thought to detail. Featuring all the modern amenities that you would wish for your luxury stay, the cottage is set in a peaceful private setting and a perfect base from which to explore the Dartmoor National Park. All of the rooms are furnished with an eclectic mix of old and new, with the owners using their flare for antiques in each room. The large open plan living space has a 3Kw woodburner, comfy sofas, smart TV/Sky, games and Sonos sound system. There are two large sofas in the living area and a large basket of logs are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric AGA, dishwasher, fridge, Nespresso and of course on arrival a generous welcome pack to get you started. Butterwell Cottage also has the advantage of having a useful utility room with fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine and ironing board. There is also an entrance lobby for you coats and wellies after a walk. The two bedrooms are on two different levels with both having ensuite bath/shower-rooms. Toiletries from Plum and Ashby soap and bath salts are provided. The main bedroom has a king size bed with topper and electric blanket. The lovely ensuite bathroom has a rolltop bath. The second bedroom is on the lower level and has large super king bed which can also breakdown into a twin. As with the rest of the cottage, the bedrooms are furnished with original art and antiques. Outside is a pretty private garden with herbaceous borders, lawn, garden furniture, deckchairs for relaxing and of course the 15th century Butterwell itself. Guest access The quests have access to the whole of the cottage and its garden. There is also private parking next to the cottage.
