The suite is approx. 54 sq.m with A/C, large refrigerator, microwave, kettle, flat screen TV and desk. This large room is decorated in a Thai/Nantucket style, combining the owners two places of residence.The 18 sq.m covered veranda has great lighting & ceiling fans, a portable gas cooktop and oven and and a kitchen sink. The space Located in Mairood Resort, this bungalow is the lower floor of a two story house. Situated on the edge of the resort, it has privacy and is sited to take advantage of views of the lagoon and out to the sea. There are a total of 17 bungalows at the resort, on just under 2 acres. Connected by well lit brick pathways through the gardens, each bungalow has its own charm and personality. Our resort attracts friendly, warm and open minded people of all ages that appreciate, respect and enjoy the way of life in the resort and village. Guest access Guests can access all areas of the resort. There is a pool with lounge chairs, several picnic tables, two covered porch swings. Sited around the property are exotic farm raised birds in cages, koi and goldfish ponds and the chickens raised on the property provide eggs for the restaurant. The restaurant serves breakfast (included in rate), with additional meals available with advanced notice. There are some small noodle shops and groceries available in the village, however there are no other bars or restaurants in the area. Other things to note This is a small resort, located in an unpretentious Cambodian fishing village away form the typical tourist areas. We are located towards the Cambodian Border, approximately 56 km when traveling from Trat. While close to the Islands of Koh Chang, Koh Mak and Koh Kood, the ferries to reach the islands are in Trat. Mairood Resort is accessed by cement pathways that wind through the village. Guest parking is available in a secured, covered parking area and porter service will bring luggage to your bungalow. Although on the water there is no beach. There are small, rustic beaches within walking distance and Banchuen Beach, 5 km away, has restaurants with covered beach platforms. There are bikes available for guests use, and scooters available for a minimal charge. Mairood village was formed by refugees who fled Cambodia during the Khmer Rouge regime. Once through the our gate, you are welcomed into the tropical gardens and inviting hospitality of the hosts and staff. The staff includes several rescued dogs, who will live their lives in the peaceful grounds of the Resort.
