Aloha travelers! Welcome to the Tiki Barn on Douglas lake! Grab your favorite Hawaiian shirt, Tiki Mug and come relax in your very own tropical retreat! The space This is a standalone FROG (finished room over garage) that has one bedroom, one bath, kitchen, dining area, and living room. There is a small deck with dining space. Tiki Barn is located on Douglas Lake which has a dam. There is a short gravel path that leads to the lake. A shared gazebo, firepit, and dock is at the lakefront. NOTE--The lake is lowered in the winter. Our cove is dry starting in November. They start filling the lake in March and our dock floats again mid April. There is one other cabin on the property that shares the lake amenities, gazebo and fire pit. Traveling with friends and need more space? This cabin is under our listings as Songbird on Douglas Lake. Shared laundry is located in the basement of Songbird. Out of respect to visitors in the other cabin, laundry hours are limited from 12 pm to 7 pm. We supply laundry detergent, softener and dryer sheets. We unfortunately do not allow any pets in the cabins. There is a 2 night minimum stay. During lake season kayaks along with life jackets are available for use. Lake season is mid April to October. Please view the lake pictures with captions if you are booking October thru May. Lake access and entering kayaks requires physical dexterity - you must be able to use steps and walk down shale rock banks. The lake water level fluctuates with the season. The closest boat ramp is Griffin Island where boats can be launched for a small fee. Douglas Lake is excellent for fishing. Fishing license and bait are available at Chambers BP station just a few minutes away. We do have some fishing poles and a tackle box in the gazebo for your use. ROAD CONDITIONS - Perry Branch Way is not suitable for any low ridding cars. The entry is steep and during the winter may be icy. If bad weather is expected a AWD vehicle is recommended. All items in the Tiki Barn are for the enjoyment of our Guests please do not remove items from the property. All items are documented and catalogued every stay. You will be charged a replacement fee for any missing items. Thank you for your understanding. Guest access Guest will be able to access the Tiki Barn and the grounds that lead down to Douglas Lake including a shared gazebo, firepit, and dock. Other things to note Douglas Lake is part of the TVA and the water level is lowered from September through April. Water access is extremely limited during this time. A fishing license is permitted by TWRA. Licenses are available for purchase at some local sporting goods stores or online. Swimming and the use of kayaks is at your own risk. Guests must accept full responsibility for any bodily injury arising from swimming and use of the kayaks and hold owner harmless. TWRA requires lifejackets to be worn while on Douglas Lake.
