Located in the historical market town of Kelso in the Scottish Borders, Cuddies Mercat is a light, spacious, self-contained first floor flat situated close to the main square. As a born-and-bred Borderer and history graduate, Lauren is passionate about the promotion and preservation of the area, and is always happy to offer any advice or suggestions to guests. SLT No: SB0021F *Discounts available for long-term stays, please feel free to message us to discuss.* The space The property boasts a rich history; from the cobbled streets it sits upon to the impressive architecture of the medieval street of Horsemarket. We have worked hard to ensure that the modern, stylish interior respectfully co-inhabits with the unique history of the region. There are two large bedrooms, an open and airy living room/dining room, bathroom and kitchen. Sash and case windows give the space a quaint, comfortable atmosphere while the interior provides all of modern life’s comforts including fibre Wi-Fi, a 48” smart flat screen TV with complementary guest Netflix as well as a host of other apps (please note, there is no live TV), comfortable beds, a strong shower and a well-stocked kitchen. The two single beds in bedroom #2 are zip lock beds and can connect together to form a king sized bed. Please request your preference when making your booking. Guest access Guests can self-check in with a key box located at the main entrance. An information booklet is provided in the property along with contact details for Lauren should you have any queries. Other things to note As Kelso is a historical town with cobbled streets, some noise from traffic can be heard during busy times of the day; the property has double glazed windows which do slightly reduce the noise. The cobbles can also be slippery when wet, so it’s advised to be cautious during the periods of infamous Scottish rain! There are also several restaurants and pubs located in the main square and adjacent streets, so very occasionally there is some noise from patrons as they make their way home. Children and infants We can provide a travel cot with bedding and high chair upon request. There are concrete steps up to the property so care must be taken with small children. The windows have functional locks, but please note that there are no child-locks on the windows. Parking We do not have an allocated parking space, however, there is free, unlimited parking located throughout Horsemarket. Bicycles Unfortunately we have no storage facilities for bikes. Smoking Strictly no smoking or vaping in the property or entrance hallway. Extended stays Discounts for extended stays are offered; we also offer a weekly, complementary linen and towel change. A full maid service can be booked for longer stays at a rate of £35 per clean. Rubbish We ask that guests use the general and recycling bins located in the kitchen. We have endeavoured to think of everything to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, but please feel free to message with any additional requests and we will try our best to accommodate you.
