About 90 minutes by car from Tokyo, this is an old house built over 100 years ago, renovated by Muji, located in the Nagasa district of Kamogawa City, Chiba Prefecture. The sliding doors, designed by the Noda Print Studio, were inspired by the nature of the Kamogawa River, and the plastering was done by the craftsmen of the Shuheigumi. Kamogawa, Chiba Prefecture, is home to Oyama Senmaida, the closest rice terrace to Tokyo, and is a rural area that can be called the original landscape of Japan. Located between the mountains and the plains, there is still a rural lifestyle right next to many living things such as trees, flowers, and birds. In order to fully enjoy the life of such a nostalgic land, a base for local life has been created with experiences to enjoy "food and agriculture". The space This over 100-year-old traditional house has been renovated by MUJI with the theme of fusing East and West, imagining a modern, free-spirited lifestyle that combines the traditional Japanese Satoyama lifestyle that is one with nature and Western lifestyle. Also, from a safety perspective, entry is prohibited beyond the safety fence.
