This cozy studio in the heart of SE Portland is perfect for you if: --you're looking for a walkable neighborhood near restaurants, cafes & shops (we're close to Hawthorne, Belmont & Division) --you want a place w/ a kitchen --you like old craftsmans w/ character (ours was built in 1909) --you're not a light sleeper wanting to sleep in--we live upstairs with our 4 year old & he's up at 7:30 every morning :) We live upstairs and are happy to help with anything you need while you're here! The space This is our dream airbnb--with everything we care about (nice sheets, nice lighting, clean, safe, and private) and nothing more (to keep the price reasonable). We carefully curated the space with treasures from antique malls and estate sales all over Oregon, but invested in new, high quality appliances, nice light fixtures, and 100% organic cotton sheets. Some highlights: --the shelves are reclaimed, 100+ year old fir (very PNW, very pretty) --the Cuisinart toaster oven is a Wirecutter pick and it is amazing--we used it before we had an oven in our kitchen and made everything in it: pizza, cobblers, roasted vegetables etc. --you can make anything you would normally make on a stove on the double hot plate--pasta, rice, whatever --laundry is within walking distance (Belmont Eco Laundry on Hawthorne), and it's clean and nice and there's free wifi there We live upstairs and have a three year old that is up at 7:30am every day, so if you're looking for a super quiet airbnb, that isn't us. But he does go to a nursery five days during the week, so the daytime is calm and also, we installed Rockwool safe & sound insulation in the ceiling & also resilient channels to make sure the noise is minimal, but it is still there. So please only book with us if you're ok with this! Street is a bike street though--no traffic noise! And ample street parking. Guest access The studio apartment is all yours while you're here! You'll be able to access the apartment through the side door of the house. The door and the stairs are shared with one other guest room, but that's it--once you open the door to your studio, it's private and entirely yours. Other things to note We're still working on the space, and there are a few little things we'd like to add--plants, more art, and our front yard is still a bit of a dirt pile.
