The Goodale Park Hideout is a 2-story apartment (2nd & 3rd floors) in a fantastic 1890s vintage building. Goodale Park is across the street and the excitement of High Street shopping and dining is just a block away. Street parking will be available for $3/night. This apartment has a unique floor plan. You will enter through the back door of the building and come up the stairs into the kitchen. The living room and "master suite" is here on the second floor, featuring a king bed and en suite bathroom. The third floor has an open loft feel and includes a sitting area and a queen bed at the back of the space, with another full bathroom. Note - the shower is in the middle of the space and is visible from the bedroom area. The ceilings are fairly low up here - maybe about 7 feet at the center. You will use a shared exterior door with a keypad lock to enter the building. The door opens to a staircase, with the private apartment at the top and a shared basement at the bottom. The door at the top has another lock. The basement is shared space, and other people will occasionally need to use the exterior door to enter the basement during your stay. *There is a hallway door that you won't be able to access - it connects to the front half of the 2nd floor. This door will be locked from both sides (the space on the other side is another short-term rental). *The WiFi router is in another part of the building; however, it is a high speed connection and has been very reliable for us. *This building is more than 100 years old, and although it has been well maintained and updated over the years, you should expect that you might find some creaky floors and other imperfections that come with an older building. *The shared laundry area in the basement is unfinished and it can have a damp smell on rainy days. There is a dehumidifier in the basement that will run on rainy days. *The entryway to the en suite master bathroom does not have a door. The bathroom is configured in a way that provides some privacy - the shower and toilet are not visible from the bedroom. *Parking is on the street and requires you to pay $3/night through the city’s parking app. The nearest free parking is about 2 blocks away. Street parking can be busy in the evenings and on weekends - this is a very popular location. *The TV does not have cable or access to any free live channels. It is a “smart” TV only. You will need to log into your own streaming accounts to play content on the TV. *The furnace is located in a mechanical room at the back of the third floor, past the bedroom. On cold winter days, the furnace will run a lot and this causes the third floor to be quite warm. If your group plans to use the bedroom up on the third floor, please be aware that it may be much warmer up there than on the second floor. There is a fan available and the windows can be opened slightly if needed. *The third floor can also be warmer on very hot summer days. There is central AC and a window AC unit as well, but on very hot days it can still be a bit warmer on the third floor.
