The space We have stayed at almost every Airbnb in the area, and were frustrated by the lack of amenities that the various properties offered so we purchased this fun lakefront cottage and furnished it like we want it when we visit our grandkids. All of the furnishings and artwork are brand new. As a previous super host of another property, we knew exactly what we needed to make your stay comfortable. Note: Fern Lake is seasonally full and available for watersports typically from April through early October. Boat launch is only .5 miles away, Please read full listing for water access information. Upon entering the cottage, you see the large main open living area with tons of natural light. The dining table seats 6 and is great for game playing. The three bar stools at the island are perfect for casual dining or additional seats. There is a comfy couch, huge window seat with big pillows, and chairs and ottoman for socializing and just hanging out in front of the fireplace. Using your credentials, you can watch the Smart TV that is visible for the whole living area. We provide games, cards, and puzzles for your use for those lazy days where you don't want to leave the cottage. This cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with all of the utensils, pot and pans, and appliances you need to cook or bake up a storm in the gas range/oven. There are plenty of dishes and cookware so you are not constantly running the dishwasher. The main bedroom has a king size bed, large walk-in closet, and double vanity bathroom. The large shower has two heads. Start or finish your day in the 3/4 person Finnish sauna located in this bathroom, complete with bluetooth speaker. There is a desk in this bedroom as well. The second bedroom , with queen bed, is at the front of the house off of the entry situated nice and close to the 2nd bathroom, complete with jetted tub. The loft area is large, with kind bed, another desk (with amazing lake view), reading chair, and workout space. We provide hand weights, Bosu, exercise bands and ball, loops bands and yoga mat for your use, stored conveniently in the loft closet. The new grill is attached to house propane. The brand new deck allows you to dine out or simply hang out in the screened-in living area complete with comfy sofa and chairs. From the back deck, you can access a great walking trail on US Corp of Engineers land. Please respect our no parties and NO PETS policy. Starter supplies of kcups, napkins, toilet paper and paper towels provided. You may also find tea and coffee. There are several spices, olive oil, balsamic, salt, and pepper to cook with as well. Note: the lake season is typically April-ish to October-ish. Refer to Guest Access section for lake use and also consult Fern Ridge website for details on fishing and boating. Book now! Guest access You have full access to the cottage and yard. The garage is for owner use only. The boat dock and the small park in front of it that you see in the pictures are private and not for guest use. Immediately to the right of the dock gate is a narrow area for launching kayaks and paddleboards. Remember the dock and boat area are off limits. Perkins Peninsula boat launch is only .5 miles away (check Fern Ridge website for availability). There are other boat launches in the area as well-see Fern Ridge website for details. Fern Ridge is a seasonal reservoir with water activities from approx. April thru early October. Other things to note Good option for people with mobility concerns. Please review accessibility features before booking and message us if you have questions. Child friendly with a high chair, bath chair, fireplace guard, children’s plates/bowls/cups, safety plugs, and pack/play. We do not recommend the use of the fireplace as we have not proven its effectiveness. For your safety, we have installed a ring camera/doorbell. Note: this neighborhood has a lot of retired people who will help us enforce our no-parties rule and NO PETS rule.
