Description
Our house is perfect for guests who love nature and animals. The best address in Luxor for independent travelers who value getting to know the country, its people, culture, and surroundings more than luxury. Our rooms are simply furnished, but the location is special. We are situated a little outside the city center, and that's precisely what makes us unique. Here you can enjoy peace and quiet and reconnect with yourself. The sights are easily accessible by taxi, tuk-tuk, or public bus. The space The rooms are simply furnished but have everything you need; this also applies to the bathrooms and other rooms. Our rooms meet Egyptian standards. Each room has shutters to darken the room and a ceiling fan. Guest access Each room has access to the balconies and terraces. The front garden is freely accessible, and the back garden can also be used or viewed upon request. Khaled will be happy to show you and explain what we grow there. The common areas are accessible to everyone. Each guest receives the corresponding keys. It is very important that the front gate is always locked. We do not want anyone on the property who has no business being there. During your stay Khaled is always reachable by phone (outside of nighttime hours) and can quickly get to the guesthouse from his home, which is located nearby. However, he's usually the Most of thr time there, either in one of the gardens or somewhere in the house. When Basti is also living there, he lives in the downstairs apartment and can usually be found in the garden. Other things to note We place great importance on ensuring our guests can enjoy the local produce. Whether it's a fresh mango or tomatoes from the field, a fresh fig straight from the tree, some grapes, or a bit of okra, we hope you'll enjoy it. Our guests are generally self-sufficient, except for breakfast. Most eat out during their excursions, but you are welcome to prepare your own meals in the very basic kitchen. You can also ask if we can cook a typical local dish for you. This is not included in the price. Just talk to Khaled if you need tips on good places to eat, want to see Fatma making sun bread, would like to go with him to the twice-weekly market, or need someone to show you around. Khaled will always do his best to be there for you. There are plenty of shopping options nearby. Just around the corner, you can buy essentials at Omnea's small shop, where she speaks some English. Further down the main road (about 500m) you'll find everything your heart desires. For about 2 km, you'll find every shop you could need on both sides of the road. Whether it's fruit and vegetables, spices, toiletries, bread, sweets, or clothing. If you're unsure where to go, just ask a neighbor and explain where you want to go or what you need. Everyone is very friendly. You can also mention that you're guests of Basti and Khaled, and they'll definitely help you. We deliberately avoid having TVs and other electronic gadgets in our rooms. Between the beginning of January and the end of March, Basti is also on-site and, upon request, will guide our guests to the sights for a small fee and explain important details.
