The Historic Big Bear Cabin is located three blocks from the heart of downtown Gatlinburg. Big Bear was built from logs hewn in 1845. This cabin began as a church and was made into a one room hiking cabin in 1936 and moved to the current location in the 60s and since updated to include indoor plumbing and AC. Free parking is directly in front of the cabin. There are stepping stones guest(s) must use to reach this one room cabin. Enjoy the view of the mountains from the porch rockers. This is a one room cabin that features a gas fireplace and a private porch. It provides a scenic view of the mountains and some local attractions. It offers one queen size bed and a private bath. This unit has a private entrance that is accessed from a private parking space located directly in front of the cabin. Please note that there are steps leading to the cabin that are on a slight incline. If any issue arises during you stay the number to the owner is on the guest book located in the cabin. We are located in downtown Gatlinburg with views of the Smoky Mountains, Space Needle, and Ober Trams. Mills Auditorium & Convention Center is 2 blocks from the cabin. Other private rentals, hotels, and residences can be found near us. Two blocks to the closest Trolley stop. Two blocks to Mills Auditorium. Three blocks to main street where you can find shopping, restaurants, and attractions. You can leave you car parked in private parking space in front of your cabin and walk to town saving you parking fees at community parking lots. We ask that you treat the unit with respect and appreciation. Guests are expected to leave the unit as they found it with trashed bagged and tied and towels placed in shower. Cleaning tips from the Centers for Control and Prevention (CDC) are implemented. The restricted guest age is because of open rail design on the porch.
