Casa Flow and Glow is a place of creativity, style, inspiration, and exploration. Located in the historic heart of Santiago do Cacem, it offers a stunning view over the town's hidden gardens and rooftops that glow in the sunlight. Its central location allows for long strolls through curvy and hilly streets, discovering treasures of the local cuisine, or taking a short drive to one of the most stunning beaches of the Alentejo coast. The town is magical and our home captures its magic. The space Our home is a mix between a two-story apartment and an individual house. You have your private entrance from a little street, a small private garden and a terrace. It is located in the center of an old town that has its bright side of everything being nearby and you have an opportunity to experience an unspoiled Portuguese life--- big-scale tourism has not yet arrived here so the old town is inhabited by the locals with whom you can share Pastel de Nata in the best pasteleria. Being in a town, means also experiencing its aliveness, sometimes some street noise, someone singing, or a couple having a loud conversation under your window. Our home is a perfect choice for people who like it real, for whom traveling isn't an escape, but they are driven by curiosity and search for local uniqueness. It is also perfectly located if you like to discover the surroundings, the Atlantic coast is 15 minutes away and there are many fascinating road trips to take inland. We provide our guests with the best tips including some local secrets! Not to mention that Rota Vincentina passes along our doors. Designing our home was a process. It was our first Portuguese home so the furniture, glasses, and porcelain are all coming from our private collection. Each glass or chair may be different and some even funky, but they all have a story. There are chairs we found abandoned on the streets of Santiago or Berlin, there is Marc's mum's blanket or cups from Hania's grandmother. We love to keep things organic and sustainable. We recycle, upcycle, reuse, repaint. We love not only our home but also the planet so we try to extend the life of objects and pieces of equipment. We believe in simplicity which invites us to be grateful and creative. Yet, we believe our home has more than the basics. For your comfort, we provide among many: a washing machine, dishwasher, frying pans, pots, a microwave, blender, cooling fan, toaster, sun umbrella, or a soccer ball you can take to the beach. The garden is lush and feels like a very tiny enchanted jungle. What guests seem to love is to explore our wide collection of books in English, German, Portuguese, Polish and French, to look at our unique and plentiful pieces of art, or to experiment with old games we brought from our own childhood times (that are kind of ancient times). Guest access The whole house is only for you! You will have your full privacy and comfort of a private terrace, small garden, kitchen, etc. We are separated from other neighbors. Other things to note During renovation, we exchanged all the pipes in the house, but we are still part of the city's sewage system. That means our guests are requested to not throw anything into a toilet (including paper that goes to a bin). We mention it as it is not common in other countries (common in Portugal). Like in a typical Alentejo home, the bedrooms are rather small (one with a softer and one with a harder mattress so you may choose what you prefer). There is an additional leisure room with many books, games, and the most amazing terrace overlooking the magnificent old town. The best spot for watching the Moon and the Sun rising! On the ground floor you will be gifted with a spacious salon, that has a fireplace, a dining area with a big wooden table, and comfortable couches. From the couch, you look directly into our beautiful greenery. All our guests are invited to join our weekly yoga classes at Strawberry Tree, a small retreat place located in Sao Francisco da Serra.
