An idyllic cottage on an island
Description
Charge your batteries in an idyllic cottage just 45 minutes away from Helsinki. A small traditional Finnish cottage and a sleeping hut in nature on a peaceful island which can be accessed with a rowing boat (included) in a few minutes. The space The cottage and the sleeping hut are small, but cozy. Solar panels provide electricity to keep the fridge cool and your mobile phone / laptop charged. Also 230V outlet available through a sin-wave inverter. Remote meetings work well through the 4G coverage, especially Elisa and DNA have excellent networks there, Telia is not as good. Drinking water needs to be carried to the island, but washing water you get from the lake or the barrels collecting rain water. I will try to make sure there is always at least 5 litres of drinking water in the cottage. The sauna is wood-heated, and the lake is just 20 meters away from the sauna for swimming. The water in the lake is not clear like in the lake Saimaa. Rowing boat is waiting for you on the shore, there is quite a lot of fish in the lake. An electric motor and a battery is available for you too. Comments from quests: ”Fantastic cottage. The distance you need to row is long enough to be a fun addition, but not so long that it's a concern. The cottage and other buildings are all clean and well stocked. The sauna heats up quickly and remains hot for as long as you need it. Highly recommend 10/10.” ”Sweet little cottage on an island with all the necessities for an authentic Finnish kesämökki if you're not afraid of using a rowing boat to get there. Enough room for six people, although for three couples it might be better to have a tent or hammock in case you want more privacy. Solar power, sauna and grill worked well. It's easy to swim in the lake.” ”The grill and the sauna were particularly good and the lake is a nice spot to fish and swim.” Other things to note There is parking space where the rowing boat is located.
