Have fun with the family at this beautiful, tranquil retreat. Enjoy fun outdoor activities such as badminton or table tennis in our extensive garden, exclusive use of the private pool or snooze on the hammock under the trees. The area is perfect for country walks and cycling and beautiful La Rochelle and the Ile de Re are less than 1.20 hours away. Local towns and places such as Melle, Verteuil, Nanteuil, Niort and Angouleme offer restaurants, bars and cafes. Owners are on site to assist The space This 2 bedroomed gite is full of rustic charm and character. You enter the property through the open plan kitchen, lounge and dining area where you are presented with beautiful exposed walls and beams which adorn the property throughout. The kitchen/ dining area is fully equipped with a large selection of crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils. The gate leg table extends, providing seating for 4-5 people. The kitchen has an electric oven and gas hob, kettle, microwave, coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine and large fridge freezer. The kitchen/diner is open plan and looks out on to the courtyard through French doors and window which gives the feel of a bright and spacious area. The cosy lounge area comfortably seats 4 people where you can sit and chat, play board games or simply watch the HD TV with its many Freesat channels. There is large master bedroom with solid wood furniture providing guests with plenty of storage space. The room can also accommodate a travel cot if required. The twin bedroom is a bright and airy space with patio doors which lead on to the courtyard. It is also equipped with solid wood furniture providing plenty of storage space. The bathroom is simply furnished and is equipped with toilet, wash hand basin and shower. Outside there is a covered seating and entertaining area – fabulous for an alfresco breakfast, an evening barbecue or to simply sit in the shade and enjoy the local wine. You have your own access to the pool and very extensive enclosed garden which gives you a great sense of space and privacy. Spring and Summer are beautiful here which is a great time to visit the area and take advantage of the endless walking and cycling opportunities. We have a range of pool inflatables and outdoor game equipment (table tennis table and bats, cycles, badminton, football etc). A welcome basket of tea, coffee and essentials is provided for you on arrival with our pleasure. Guest access The swimming pool, covered area and garden area exclusive to you. We also have a meadow and wood external to the grounds which you are free to explore. The property and grounds are enclosed and are accessed through electric gates which brings you into our spacious courtyard. You will have a designated parking space in the courtyard. Other things to note Our property is a beautiful authentic rural dwelling with stone and wood beams. Your comfort and well-being is paramount and we wish to deliver this with as many modern comforts as we can. Please remove all your rubbish and recycling from the gite when you leave, using the bins outside in the lane. We also thank you in advance for stripping the beds and leaving all linens, towels, bedding etc in the basket provided at the end of your stay. Unfortunately we are not able to accept pets. Smoking is strictly not permitted in the gite nor around the pool area. We will provide an ashtray on request for the outdoor seating area. We ask you to leave our gite as you found it in terms of cleanliness and tidiness.
