Cramer Family Mountain Inn “Vivian Room”
Cramer Family Mountain Inn “Vivian Room”
Description
Surrounded by the beautiful central Pennsylvania mountains, the Cramer Family Mountain Inn sits in the center of town and is just 1 mile to I-80 and 25 minutes to Penn State. Vivian's Room is on the 2nd floor and at the front of the house with direct access to the upper verandah and its outdoor seating area. The recently renovated shared hall bath with a large tiled shower is just down the hall. The space Vivian Room is located on the second floor and is the second largest of the main house rooms. This room shares the spacious hall bathroom with Uncle Blaine Room. The shared bath has two steps into the room and is outfitted with a large subway tile shower and dual hand-held and stationary shower head with glass surround. Note: Due to this being a shared bathroom with Uncle Blaine room, there is an inside lock for privacy. *There are four other rooms available for rent at the Cramer Family Mountain Inn! Click on my (Tricia’s) picture as host and scroll to “Tricia’s Listings” to see all options. Vivian Room is named after our grandmother Cramer. When spending the night or weekend as children, we slept in the “purple room”. This room is decorated with very subtle touches of lavender and plums as an ode to those memories. The room also includes direct access to the covered second floor verandah for sitting and relaxing with a cup of tea and a good book. The bedside lamp operates by touch and includes a USB port for charging devices. There is a smart HDTV for private streaming as well as individually controlled heating and air conditioning. In the side yard, a fire ring and seating is provided for building a fire and enjoying the mountain sounds and starry nights. It's also a great location for adventuring on the SSRTA SxS/ATV Trails, attending PSU events and games (an easy 25 minutes away) or visiting the local state parks - Black Moshannon & Bald Eagle. Guest access Common Room: Guests within the main house may enjoy the shared common room just off the main 1st floor hallway. Previously it was the dining room with vintage wallpaper and plate rail. It is now utilized as a sitting room with a leather loveseat and cozy arm chairs. A vintage oak table and chairs originally owned by the McLaughlin family is perfectly placed for playing a board game or cards. Also, check out the vintage desk that houses Cordes Chambers’ “The Mountaintop Through Newspaper Account” volumes 1 through 9. Kitchen Access: Feel free to utilize the kitchen for other meals that you wish to create or bring in from our local restaurants! We do ask that you please practice safe cooking habits. Do not leave burners unattended. Please do not cook with strong-smelling ingredients. Lingering smells that require deep cleans will be charged a cleaning fee of up to $100. Lastly, you're welcome to use the bottom drawers of the fridge to store personal food items. There are signs hanging on the fridge that can be used to identify your food items so other guests are aware. Bed & Breakfast Side-Yard and Porches: In addition, all guests have access to the quiet side yard. Feel free to relax by the fire at the fire pit or try your hand at a game of cornhole. There’s also a picnic table should having a meal alfresco be of interest. Lastly, all guests have access to the expansive front porches. Both the 1st and 2nd floor verandas have been decked out with seating and tables for enjoying the traffic, mountain sounds, and small-town conversation. During your stay If you experience any issues or need anything, feel free to contact us any time! We're just a block away, if needed and are always happy to help. Other things to note Snow Shoe Rails to Trails Association (SSRTA): If you're planning a ride (or hike/bike) on the SSRTA trails, our Inn is situated on one of the many approved streets for riding your ATV/UTV right to the trail. We are also an SSRTA business sponsor and have the yearly memberships available for purchase. Hikers, bikers (manual and electric), equestrians and walkers do not need an SSRTA membership.
